This years mixes from Immersed Audio, hopefully we're going to introduce you to a few new artists alongside plenty that you will already know.



"The very first podcast of 2013 comes from a producer we discovered at the tail end of last year with an incredible EP on Aubele, it's the hugely underrated Japan based artist, Brisa. A quick search through this guys release history reveals a varied and fruitful journey from 2008 releases towards the current output you will hear today, influenced by house, jazz, techno and dub Brisa has arrived at sound best described as house and bass, with a few experimental splashes for good measure."

This years podcast is now in full swing with our 58th mix and second of 2013 coming from one of the freshest and most original producers we've heard in a long time. The man in question, Sarp Yilmaz - a deep thinking, house music making, purveyor of the experimental from Istanbul in Turkey. I was first alerted to this guys talents last year via newly formed Parisian label Tablon Records with the outlandish 'I Care Because You Don't' EP. It was clear straight away from the release that there was something refreshingly different on offer. Raw and organic, almost understated energy effortlessly fills the tracks with character, taking a house foundation and filling it with jazzy influences which are further complimented by the underlying endless groove and lo-fi background noise.

One of this years new features entitled '2013 Incoming' will showcase a selection of 10 recommended tracks per mix, which will be available to stream or download with the purpose of a) having an upfront preview of some of the best releases due to hit the stores in the coming weeks, and b) give you an idea of the releases we plan to feature and review. The majority of tracks in the mixes will re-appear on the site towards their release dates with all the usual info on the artist and label, plus buy links for vinyl and digital copies.

We welcome a true veteran of techno and electro to the IA Mix Series for our 59th mix. Billy Nasty should need little introduction after over 25 years doing what he does best, which incidentally involves continually playing all over the world, producing under a number of alias', collaboration projects including RadioNasty with Keith Tenniswood / Radioactive Man and running a number of influential labels including Tortured and Electrix Records.

Founder and head of the incredible Echodub imprint, Alex Cowles producing under the name DFRNT joins us for podcast numero 60 today with an hour of house and techno. Alex is an all round creative type, on top of the day job as a designer based in Edinburgh he somehow manages to fit in time to produce, DJ, run both Echodub and net label Cut Records, record fortnightly Insight podcasts as well as writing for the Sitting Ovation blog. The hard work and talents of this guy have taken him all around the world providing nocturnal entertainment in Poland, Belgium, New York to Baltimore and all over the UK, playing alongside Scuba, Julio Bashmore, Arkist, Distal and many more.

London underground imprint Switched On Records currently only have 2 releases to their name after launching in May of last year with a third on the way from this weeks guest Lost & Found. Quality over quantity is something I always live by and is most definitely the case here. Label head S.E.F featured on the podcast last year to coincide with his own 'Autonomy EP' and listening to his interview responses it was clear the support and passion was present for this label to be able to take their time, make all the right moves and let it naturally work in their favour.
