Deep BASS?

Post by mt12345 » Tue Feb 26, 2013 8:21 pm

How to achieve good deep yet 'mild' bass?
Even deeper than the one in Datsik's Hustler:

https://soundcloud.com/datsik/datsik-bo ... stler-trap

My budget is strictly limited so free or cheap vst (mac or pc) or reason patch/refill.
Please help.

For "deep" basses I like saturated triangle basses. Or for bonus points use a single sine wave and compress it into a square wave (will sound different/more dynamic than regular square wave). Layer a mono sine or triangle underneath it. Really just keep the whole thing together. Bus the sounds and compress them just a little for glue.
