Re: Need a bit of help on my sub basses
Heres a simple way create your synthy bass patch in massive and route to fx1 eq,distort whatever you do
Copy the patch and change the input waves scrapyard or whater you've used to sin and route to fx2 an eq as a normal sub
Then route fx 1 & 2 to fx 3 and add a maximus then revolume the sub if needed addind filters to fx 1 and 3 an play for maxium effect
Sound fat doen't it

Re: Need a bit of help on my sub basses
First of all if you don't want your synth on top to interfere with your bass make sure you high pass your synth so its not taking up any bass frequencies.Dahneboy wrote:I know i shouldnt be worrying about it as much but im very curious on how to get the sub bass you can hear and feel in a way it doesnt interfere with the synth ontop like the video below. im reffering how to do it in fl studio and massive but any tips would help i would appreciate![]()
Re: Need a bit of help on my sub basses
Lol, shouldn't worry about it? Sub bass is probably the single-most important element to a BASS MUSIC tune!!!!!joegrizzly wrote:Ya why would anybody really care about a sub bassDahneboy wrote:I know i shouldnt be worrying about it as much![]()
I guess you would want a sine wave witha a little bit of square or triangle in it. in the 0-1 scale... F to A (plz correct me if I'm wrong) and add some distortion to it, so it comes 'louder' in the mix. And thenuse filter cutoffs for whichever frequencies you need to cut depending on your other synths
Just a straight sine wave, maybe a bit of tube warmth to give it a little bit of harmonics higher up. Compress to even out any transient peaks. That's it really. Go for a root key of your tune between E to G. If you go lower you start getting into frequencies that systems struggle to produce. If you go higher it'll start lifting out of the "sub bass" spectrum area and it'll interfere with your kick.
Re: Sub Bass Techniques
Play a sine wave, run it through analogue gear, paste the audio clip and repitch it, so that it can play any pitch.
Put your lead bass over that similarly, highpassed, dog.

Re: Should you EQ your sub bass?
theres a preset in camel phat called "just subs" it sounds almost too powerful but when you layer a synth its enough to stay, just get your volume levels right and you will be alrightCYRHEN wrote:I like this theory I never thought of throwing camel phat on my sub I usually just saturate it with Abletons tools.Dahneboy wrote:just use sine waves and add camel phat to boost it and cut the frequencies above 100hz and set it to mono
