-- About the Artists --

* PHUTUREPRIMITIVE *

Phutureprimitive music is singular and unique in its approach: Lush melodies drift across intricate rhythms, groove heavy beats and warm, fuzzy bass lines. Often exploring a dark and dense palette, his music also manages to convey a sense of tranquility and beauty, engaging the listener into hypnotic movement and often escalating toward a full kinetic experience. Conceived and produced in a digital environment, his music manages to convey more humanity and organic warmth then typically found in an often cold and sterile genre. Shimmering with cinematic qualities, his music ultimately speaks to both the mind and the body.

* ILL-ESHA *

Hailing from Vancouver, BC (and inspired deeply by two years in San Francisco before recently moving to Denver, Colorado), ill-esha burst onto the North American electronic scene originally as a drum & bass vocalist featured on various releases for the likes of Breakbeat Science, Fokuz, and BluSaphir, gradually becoming known for the seamless incorporation of original vocals and MCing into her DJ sets. Her multi-dimensional approach spans every color in the bass music rainbow, creating a dynamic live show which has set ill-esha apart amidst some of electronic music’s most groundbreaking acts – her current live show features mostly original music chopped, screwed and beatmatched with live vocal effects and loops over top.

Since the release of her first 12” single in her teens, ill-esha has been honing her skills as vocalist, DJ and producer who delivers studio efforts and live shows setting the stage for the future of electronic music.

This night will also be ill-esha's album release party.

* BUKU *

From the first glimpses of Robert Balotsky’s work as Buku, it was clear that the Pittsburgh native and graduate of Music Technology was onto something. With an effortless grasp on sound design and music theory, the young producer combines deceptively simple and emotive melodies, laden with resounding bass drops and intricate drum patterns.

With a love of drums rooting from childhood, his work reflects the obsession – emitting percussive elements only a trained ear could produce.
