Was the 90's a good decade for music or just a decade of commercialising 80's music?

Hip hop started in the 80's
Rave/DJ culture started in the 80's
Electronic/dance music in the 80's
Grunge started in the 80's
Ska/skate punk started in the 80's

If Illmatic, Endtroducing and 36 Chambers are commercializations of Hip-Hop, count me in.

If MFTJG, Leftism (OK, you might be right on that one), Jungle in general and Boards of Canada are commercializations of electronic music, count me in.
