As the owner of an analog monosynth, if you've got some extra cash, I recommend them...Arturia Minibrute, DSI Mopho, Moogs, maybe the new Korg. You'd be surprised how often you'll use them. Kicks, percs, leads, basses, incidental FX. Load a long note of a patch into your DAW reverb > chorus = analog pads. Not to mention if you really like a patch but wish you had some polyphony just sample it and drop it in something like Alchemy, Absynth...whatever more complex sampler you have and go to town. Slightly OT...but I try to pimp the hardware route every chance I get ;p

Someone I respect on IDMf just said that Marc Doty claims it's worth the cost of admission just to process external audio...supposed to have a full review out soon.

It also integrates perfectly with the iMs20 app. Not sure if that really means anything, but nice to see that someone is yang attention.

Such a good price. I was thinking about maybe getting a minibrute but this might be more of what I'm looking for.

I'm a little bit confused as to the possibility of controlling other synths with the usb-midi out?

Didn't look into it that hard, but if it can send MIDI signals via USB you could theoretically control anything in your DAW with it and maybe other hardware connected to your DAW via MIDI.

I hate how all these new synths have such limited MIDI options. For 600 bucks I can't get a MIDI Out/Thru?

I'm sure its just the keys, none of the knobs will send midi cc's.
For $600, its a killer deal. Processing drums loops thru the filter and overdrive is pretty awesome. If I didnt have an original I would definitely be getting one. Hell, Ive thought about getting a new one anyway as a sacrificial road instrument , just so I wont feel so guilty when I take my old one out to gigs.

I think it's identical possibly just with some additions.

I have been told it will sound like the original but fresh out of the factory.

Definitely good for the price. I paid like £1300 for my original I think
