I feel the same way but don't you think you'd have more luck posting this on a forum for an actual product? Or is this one of those threads where you are just posting to vent without any intention of actually getting these companies to see your post?

50% venting, 50% hoping they're trolling here for ideas/insight and see this. It happens so much lately that if I could spend all day posting on these companies' product forums and still not reach them all. It's highly annoying, and while I understand that they're using it as a promotional tool because of the metrics and whatnot, I wonder if they understand that they also might be helping their competition (since Facebook will whore your information out to anybody with enough money.) Especially the smaller boutique type outfits - you think NI et. al. are
not watching to see what works for you so they can try and beat you to the punch?

Yeah I definitely know what you mean... It humors me a great deal when I see pages with like 50,000+ likes but then when they post something it gets like 50 likes and 2 comments.

I also don't feel bad at all when I 'like' a facebook page just to download something then 'unlike' it.

I take it as an indicator that me and that company don't need to do business. If they want to be part of the problem, I have to be part of the solution.

You know they are only running the competition to get publicity and facebook likes. If they run the comp and then dont have it facebook only, or have a competition not linked to facebook, then what is the point on their behalf, they arent gaining anything from it then, instead are giving away a product for nothing lol.
They do the facebook thing so that people like it, share it etc. then friends see the activity that they didnt know about it before and do the same and it spreads. It is promoting them. If it wasnt on facebook that wouldnt happen.
So stop whining about not getting free stuff lol

They don't do it for exposure on Facebook, they do it to manipulate google algorithms.
