Park Ranger
IMO I have the coolest job ever:Chop down trees, drive tractors, dump Trucks, atv's, build stuff, fix stuff, search and rescue, respond to medical and fire emergencies. Can't really get any gunner than that

I build websites and do general internet shit for money at the moment.
Gonna be starting an online business with my mate soon doing something in the gaming PC and music computer field soon (don't wanna say yet cos it's an original idea) which will probably also include doing virus removal/PC upgrade/troubleshooting etc on a local scale, which will more than likely end up being the more profitable but less enjoyable end of the business. Aiming to then start doing servers and shit, once you're the go-to guys for a few companies you can start earning quite nicely.
On this entrepreneurial vibe...fuck bosses

I do indeed man. Music sites are fun. The more idea you have of what you want, the cheaper and quicker I can do it. I'll quote someone £500+ if they're like "I want a website. Make it look good." but if you know roughly what kind of layout and vibe you want it's 5x quicker for me thus 5x cheaper for you

so i applied with 7 years construction/landscaping/management. i was applying with knowlege of all the equipment/tools/skills i needed but i still had to temp for 4 years before i got at the top of the hiring pool a year the were recruiting. i have friends with recreation degrees or wild land management classes but for the agency i work for its really just having some skills they want and being patient. the friends that have degree's definitely got picked up before me by a couple years but are now getting up to speed on my tools/equipment experience. they got hired before me but im advancing as a lead before them. but then again i have all most no chance of management with no degreerayman612 wrote:r u 4 real a park rangerefence wrote:Park Ranger

Re: $$$How do you guys make a living?$$$
i just got a new job.
im went from my sports bar cashier 20/hr a week job to a 40+ hour a week job in stone restoration (marble, granite etc)
any advice on this change? the schedule is brutal, some days are 5am-5pm some are overnight 8pm-5am
im making $1600 every two weeks now though instead of $300 every two weeks, thats the only thing keeping me going now.

My advice would be to save as much as you can possibly afford. Live like you was living with the money on your previous job. Then take that money and buy yourself a house then you won't have to work anymore and just make enough money to get by and be happy with you life and do the things you love.RandoRando wrote:i just got a new job.

That's decent money mate, thing is you need to weigh up whats more important having money or a life.Good way to look at it is you will get use to the work + hours and the money is very good so just stick with it and see how you get on.I use to work 12hours 7 days a week for months on end,it was a killer but the payday was always really big so sort of made up for the part where i had to bust my balls.
Long hours are never for the faint hearted but as long as the pays good then at least its worth it.
