Sound Design Subforum

Post by wub » Sat Mar 09, 2013 6:17 pm

You may have noticed a sound design sub forum at the top of the page.

Starting next week, all sound design questions and threads will be moved to that forum for a short trial.

Any questions/thoughts, please post below and I'll be happy to discuss.

Best regards,

Wub xx

Sampling. But if we were to ask how the samples were made, boom, subforum material. As producers, we design sounds/arrange sound, and since there's pretty much no threads about arrangement, I guess the subforum is the only part of the forum that's gonna be active. Could be wrong though, just got out of bed, I may have forgotten about some other stuff we talk about

I'm kinda thinking along those lines too. I guess maybe processing a snare and stuff isn't sound design since you already have the sound and you're just tweaking it. There have been a lot of topics lately, almost hard to keep up with. But OTOH I think the distinction is pretty vague so it might discourage people from posting and if you wanted to you could probably move like 90% of all the topics to Sound Design. I do think a lot of threads are going to get lost in there though.

I dunno, I just don't think it was a problem before but maybe that's just me?

Arrangement, hardware, software, mastering, mixing, composition, ideas, concepts, beats etc etc.

As I said in op, its a trial. It might fall flat

At a base level, yes.

My previous post was in answer to nowaysj re; what else counted as non sound design

these kind of threads are probably gonna pop up outside the subforum still though, people post without reading the stickies/searching, I don't see how a subforum could change them from non-reading idiots to normal thinking people.
Just to be clear though, I'm positive about the subforum
