Re: Water + 24Hz Sine Wave...
Not unless they were playing a tune where the bass is specifically the same frame rate as the camera filming it and your dick was stuck to the speaker.chekov wrote:would this happen to my wee if i went for a piss next to an rc1 rig?

Would be interesting to see if anyone but the person who made this gives it a go. was always very sceptical about the reversed gravity one to be honest but this one seems more plausible. but i guess acoustic levitation is possible but just not sure if water would float back up exactly back in to the tap? although could be like the optical illusion of car wheels spinning backwards i guess.
Cymatics are cool too

Re: Water + 24Hz Sine Wave...
enlighten me
was the law of gravity broken in this video? thats all i'm trying to clarify. not whether or not if it appears to be moving backwards . as in are the water molecules actually moving backwards (from floor upwards) in to the tap/filter or is the acoustic influence just making it appear that way?
(for the reverse part only)

this is cool too : Acoustic levitation of water droplets

Re: Water + 24Hz Sine Wave...
the camera is running at 24 fps and the water is being excited at 24Hz so the two sync up and the camera only takes a picture when the water is at the same position. when you lower the excitation frequency of the hose, the water appears to move upwards becuase the camera takes a picture at a slightly earlier position for each frame.
same thing that makes car wheels look like they're spinning backwards on tv

Re: Water + 24Hz Sine Wave...
cool- and yeah said that earlier about the wheel thing. Was just clarifying the reverse part was based in a cool illusion and black cats and not some kind of actual anti-gravity
Re: Water + 24Hz Sine Wave...
What would it appear to do without the camera, as in the naked eye?

just water coming out of a shaky hose, its all really a camera trickDoozle wrote:What would it appear to do without the camera, as in the naked eye?
