Ok, so I'm pure noob, had my first proper exposure to Dubstep at the Big chill of all places!! (Skream smashed it!!)
Have been producing hobby Hip Hop for a few while now on an MPC2000xl, and I've always had loads of soft synths for Cubase that I never used, so I though I'd give it a go.

Everything was sequenced by the MPC and the mixdown was recorded live (live mutes n stuff) into cubase.
Is it Dubstep?? Does it work?

sounds like dubstep to me. very monotonous though, change the loops up a bit! it works, but its on the musical equivalent of minimum wage. certainly not bad for your first try though

Hmmm... I quite like the apache manipulation, but I'm not sure how well it fits with the dubstep feel.
I thought the sustained wobble was a bit boring and there wasn't really much space or atmosphere or vibe. On the other hand, I've got a bit of an anti-wobble pro-space/atmosphere/vibe bias so you might take that with a pinch of salt.
