yes, just listened back to both I meant Tehran sorry. Azalea's still big though, might still prefer that over both these tunesbaddis98 wrote:middle eastern? It's not my favourite tune he's ever made to be fair but its not shallow band wagon jumping, he did a mix a while back that was full of, well, not trap, but "mainstream hip hop" as someone called it, that kind of sound. So he clearly has a passion for it, so why not produce it? He produces every other style, haha. Just another string to his bow really, he's already at the top of the dubstep/grime/garage/reggae/weird vocal stuff scenes so it's time for a bash at hip hopPhigure wrote:habib is very very weak

yeah that was that outlook mix wasnt it? i really enjoyed that and i dont really have a problem with "mainstream hip hop" at all, i just think that whether or not he intended to "hop on the bandwagon" - that's what it comes across as, to me at least. i mean "trap" is/was probably the biggest new thing to blow up in dance music in the last year. i'm not necessarily against producers from other genres incorporating some of the elements, but im pretty skeptical of it when they do, because like i said, it is the "hot" bandwagon to jump on right now. i'm not against him trying different things, one of the reasons i rate him so much as a producer is because of his diversityjsml wrote:It's not my favourite tune he's ever made to be fair but its not shallow band wagon jumping, he did a mix a while back that was full of, well, not trap, but "mainstream hip hop" as someone called it, that kind of sound. take this tune for example:
clearly also trying to incorporate some of the oh so popular "trap" elements, but IMO done in a more tasteful way. it's a commodo tune with a bit of trap influence, whereas habib to me is a generic trap tune with a little bit of kahn
/2 cents
Re: Kahn
to me that's just another commodo tune where you can hear his hip hop influence. like in So Clear or Buckwild. i'm not against adapting other styles to your music at all, kromestar does it pretty well too, i just think that Habib tune sounds really cheap and uninspired. wouldn't even guess it's by Kahn if it wasn't for his trademark sample.
Re: Kahn
I'd have guessed it was Kahn.. has his strings and the bass is almost identical to Tehran. Hes played some Indian/Arabic vocalled tunes in his mixes before too so its obvious he likes the style of the vocals.baddis98 wrote:wouldn't even guess it's by Kahn if it wasn't for his trademark sample.
I like it but I can see why people aren't feeling it, wrong timing I suppose.

enjoying badman city, and yeah, dread finally grew on me.. i ended up bagging a few of his releases and just put them on repeat, just rinsed his sound etc.
Illy is probably the one i play the most, a seriously nice tune.
i still by what said about the hype with dread and that though

Yeah I saw that, that's the first I heard about it, can't seem to find anything else about it on the net. Either kept this one well locked down or it won't be out for a while?Kochari wrote:There's a launch party on 30th March, so sometime round then ?garethom wrote:Anybody got any idea when this Young Echo album comes out?
