We've been umming and aahing over whether to press Grime 2.0 on vinyl.
With 35 tracks we'd need to do it across 4 pieces of vinyl which is a pretty major undertaking. But then Beat Delete stepped in and suggested we launch their first appeal for a brand new, non-reissued vinyl pre-order/pledge. If you need 35 tracks across eight sides of 180gm black plastic (plus a download code, of course) in your life, then go here now and pledge allegiance to your turntable.
Obv, it depends on the length of the tracks etc but I've got some of those Steppas Delight comps with 3 tracks on some sides and to me that feels like pushing it a bit. And I don't mean just the loss of volume but the frequencies really suffer (especially the highs). Anything more than 12+ mins per side will probably suffer from this pretty badly.
I dunno, I'll probably have to think on it...
EDIT: I just remembered that my buddy left his MP - Trei Locuri record here and that plate has 35(!) minutes on one side. Just put it on and it sounds CRISP! So I'm guessing it has more to do with mastering than with the physical limitations.
The frequency range (top end) decreases as you get closer to the middle regardless of how many tracks are on there, but what I'm principally concerned about is volume relative to the one track per side 12's I have.
Don't think it will sound too bad, most grime tracks are around 4 mins leaving around 16 mins per side (So it'll sound like an LP). They'll probably just rearrange the tracklist to make sure each side is as short as possible

It's not like he dislikes Vivek or something.

Has anyone who pledged paid for it yet? I got the email saying they'd reached the target 4 days ago, but they haven't sent us an invoice like they did with the last thing I pledged on there
