Derocc - "Pineapple Chunks"(GlitchHop/Grime/Experimental)

Post by Derocc » Thu Mar 28, 2013 4:38 pm

Hey Yall! I took a whack at writing some groovy glitchhop/dubstep track. Kind of a melodic DnB inspired intro and verse but grooves down real dirty for the drop. And its gotta triplet feel which i rarely dabble with. Lemme know what ya think! Feedback or saying it sucks is totally welcome :D

Yea dude, well done. I hate "that" dubstep song that this is trying to sound like but this is pretty well done considering. I enjoyed the funky bass slap that creeps in here and there. You have a decent sound ;) Keep em' coming!

Thanks man! I've been wanting to utilize a slap bass but haven't found a place for it. Until this track. I am curious though to what "that" song is, maybe I heard it unknowingly and subliminally mimicked it?

Every popstep song ever, the oscilating selection of 3-4 abrasive NI massive mid-sounds that changes every 1-2 bars. Don't let my opinion sway from making that sound though, its entirely subjective and I only enjoy the deep/dark dubstep flavour. Most people on here would completely disagree with my opinion.

I like it. Has a lot of energy. The song I think it likely sounds the most like would be Skrillex First of the Year. You may want to do a different upper synth line and sound to distance it from that song. Or not, just my two cents cause that song popped into my head as soon as your drop hit.

Aahhh ok I feel ya on the sounds just swapping back and forth, that ain't massive though, it's all Thor in reason :D

I do hear that synth resembling first of the year for sure, I just adapted a sweep picking pattern from my metal days to it, now that's all I'm gonna think about :,( lol
