Hello, my name is Lord Omega and I have finally figured out how to make the ultimate Kill the Noise bass. Now most of you will be thinking, here we go again another noob who thinks hes KTN . Well fuck you guys . I thought about it for a long time and finally thought that it can't be that hard. As Massive isn't something with takes you years to perfect. So here is how to make a nice sounds KTN squelchy bass.

OSC 1 - Sine

OSC 2 - A.I.

MOD OSC - PHASE: SINE (HALFWAY)

That is just the basics of the sound, to get more vowels try modulating the intensity of the A.I. and the phase (generally round 0-50%).

The vowel on that just doesn't come through clear enough to me but I feel like you're on the right track. Simple is better

Also I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with this using FM? Massive is, yeah - premade wavetables, so I still don't know how the sound is created if I find a wavetable that sounds like what I want.
So, any FM luck?

Actually, guys, here's a shocking fact. Skrillex and Kill the Noise are probably laughing at all of us right now. They said in an interview, multiple times, that they did NOT make most of their growls in NI Massive.

They made their growls in FM8. Skrillex and Kill the Noise have BOTH said that "these growls are FM sounds". Skrillex actually said in his interview that he was amused that so many "kids online are trying to re-create my basses in Massive, when they were actually made in FM8". No, Massive technically is NOT an FM plugin. It has FM wavetables but that's the only FM in it. Massive is more of a wavetable plugin, than say, FM8 or Sytrus.

Now, I am kinda one of those "kids online". I actually made an almost perfect replica of the Jokes on You growl bass in Massive and Serum, and figured out how to use it in context. And I made a decent replica of the bass in FM8. I'm actually trying to recreate the same bass in Sytrus to try to understand these sounds a bit better. I'm working on a track that has this growl as a dominant bass in it, so I'll post it here and let you guys see whether that is the sound you're looking for.
