So I have been trying to figure out how to make this sort of soft simple dubstep. I don't know the name of it but I can name some songs where it is heard in. It's not exactly a wobble, more like a bass drop..
The songs I hear it in are:
• Figure 8 - Ellie Goulding
(drop heard at 01:05 & all choruses)
• Lies - Marina and the Diamonds
(drop heard at 01:02 & all choruses)
• You Da One - Rihanna
(drop heard at 00:46 & throughout most of the song)
It would mean a lot if you would help me figure out how to make this sound! Thank you so much! I'll provide links below for the songs.
Figure 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNpBahr49mA

How do I make this sound?
Re: How do I make this sound?
Sounds like maybe a sine or a low passed saw with minor distortion. Even if I'm wrong, just a tip, next time, post in the sound design sub forum.

Oh ok! Sorry about that, I'm new here so I don't know how to work the site yet, you know? Haha anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Believe me, I know the feel.
This place can be brutal every now and then. Just a heads up newbie!

Record yourself singing a constant tone.
Then make a patch in your favorite synth from the ground up, make a bassline with it, and then mute the track.
Put a vocoder on your recorded singing, and set the modulator as your synth track, make sure to adjust the formants.
Disable the vocoder track, mute the vocal track, and unmute the synth track.
Compres.
Cheers
