Re: Best Dubstep Sample Pack You Own?
I like deadmau5's pack, but wouldn't use it exclusively by any means.

Re: Best Dubstep Sample Pack You Own?
like deadmau5's pack as well
Re: Best Dubstep Sample Pack You Own?
I gotta say I do enjoy some of Deadmau5's earliest stuff, like Faxing Berlin.
I also have massive respect for him as a producer.
His most recent stuff is horrible though, in my opinion.

Re: Best Dubstep Sample Pack You Own?
hmm so he still does make some good stuff! that makes me happy.
My three all-time favorite Deadmau5 tracks are Strobe, Faxing Berlin, and Not Exactly.
Thanks for sharing, I really like that track

I swear, such an amazing track. The fact that you have to wait like 8 minutes for the actual beat to come in makes it even better, and the synths before the beat are amazing anyways

Yeah his early stuff was good. I'm just not into the new styles at all.Sonika wrote:I gotta say I do enjoy some of Deadmau5's earliest stuff, like Faxing Berlin.

This is kind of related Re: sample packs
He's a good producer but a few years ago there was some controversy in the scene over him taking legal action (or threatening) when a producer released a track using the faxing berlin samples. They are/were included in an older version of FL. He said they were just to be an example, but you have to expect people will use the samples in their work if they are available like that. That's about when I lost respect for him. Threatening independent producers over that is uncalled for IMO. What's the big deal. It was nowhere near as popular as the original, and didn't even sound similar.
Re: Best Dubstep Sample Pack You Own?
Yeah I know! I saw that too, but I thought it was a rumor. If it was true, that's total bullshit, if there's a sample on the DAW then people are gonna use it!

Goldbaby are the best and the most clean IMHO
Re: Best Dubstep Sample Pack You Own?
my best sample pack is freesound.org
in all seriousness tho i rarely find sample packs that have consistently good samples.
usually a pack has a couple of gems and looooads of shit.
i stick to downloading samples separately now.

Re: Best Dubstep Sample Pack You Own?
I have a couple from this site.
Really good samples actually and not over-priced.
http://sample-packs.co.uk/shop/moombahton-explosion/
I used this pack for the drums
I tend not to go for the Artist specific ones if you know what I mean.
Faceless samples are the ones to go for
