Okay I'm new to the forums and have a little trouble with EQ so I'm gona try and give feedback the best to my ability

@DarkDubz I really love the atmospheric intro and really nice sample used it suits the mood well, nice opening growl too! I'd maybe try and add a bit more variation to the growls if possible and maybe boost the samples volume a touch when the growls are in the mix :S i'm bad at this sorry :p overall i really like this nice and dark ;)

@Subfect very chilled intro I especially like them droning sounds and the growls maybe try i really can't think of any bad things to say about this as I am not an expert with eq and you will see when you listen to my track

@Darkdubz Really like the vocal sample and intro, however, I felt it could have kicked in better when the midrange came in, i dunno just my thoughts... besides that, ace!

@Subfect Although its not really my cup of tea it's still well done, I just have the feeling its a bit bare

@Nitemere Pretty cool, again now my style, I dunno what to say for advice... maybe just tighten it up a bit? I dunno...

Anyways here's my tune that I'm working on, haven't done something at 140 in awhile.

@ Giles Davis - Some nice percussion in the song. The Drums are mixed very nicely. The song has a good flow, but think near the end you could incorporate a new melody or progression :W:
@ darkdubz - Very dark and has this cool industry feeling to it. Nicely mixed. Good stuff. ;-)
@ subfect - so chilled (until the growls come in ;-) ). Like that thumping kick. gives the song a nice rolling feeling. That low rumble is ominous (i think thats the word)
@ NITEMERE - The Snare is nice and I didn't expect the scream :6: You got some good ideas in this song but i think you need to EQ out the sounds a bit more and adjust the levels. There is isn't much of a build-up? With this type of Dubstep is all about getting the build-up and anticipation going for the drop. But I'm sure you'll be able to work on these things :)
@ JayRage - Like the quirkiness of the melody!. It has a kind of trap feeling to it, nice. :4: I think the bass sounds need to be layered up with a bit more beef in the lower-end. I think incorporating a transition or something after 8/16 bars would be cool

Here is WIP of my latest tune. I think i need to work on the build-up a bit more. and not sure if the transitions are totally spot on so working on those. Feedback welcome as always :P

@filtersnake:
I especially like the percussion. the drop is fucking hardcore, I love it. As a whole, the mix seems a little harsh in the high end. You're right that the build-up could be a little more intense...I think if you didn't leave it silent for so long, or put a few vocal chops in between there it might sound cooler. I really like where this is going, I can't wait to hear more!

@AcidRat:
I'm not sure that guitar sample works so much with the vibe of the track. Overall the track seems pretty sparse, it'd be cool if you layered a few more sounds in there.

@nitemere: I really like the synth sounds you've got going on here. And that scream was fucking :h: . In terms of EQ, first of all, I would low cut everything that's not the sub bass. Where exactly to cut it is up to you, I'd just play with it until you find the spot where it doesn't take away too much from the sound, but makes it sit nicely in track. (I have my bass growls and stuff low cut around 70Hz, and my background pads / etc cut around 411Hz, for example.) Also, you might want to just turn the sub bass down a little, it takes up a bunch of room in the track right now. There isn't really a build up, but this doesn't seem like a finished piece, so that might be coming later.

I changed the drum pattern a lot, and did some more mixing and EQ'ing. I'm thinking this one is pretty close to done, just want to get a few more opinions before I let it loose!

@ JayRage
liking the uniqueness of t/ old school vibes. would suggest layering the main bass to get a fuller sound :D
@marling
nice sounds, drums are too quiet tho, feels as if they get lost during the drop a bit
@ nightmere
great concept in there, scream was awesome!!!
however, the bass feels a bit loose and lacks a 'core' to the sound. I'd suggest layering it with a simple reese kind of sound, low passed. I think itd give it more tonal character and help liven it up a bit more :D

here's mine, its neurofunk/dnb - unmastered. Still adding a couple of transitions here and there but thoughts so far would be appreciated!!

NITEMERE - Good sound, could use more filter variation on the synth. Also, try adding a snare with more verb every 4th hit with some more percussion changeups. That drum pattern is so rinsed to death it's almost unforgivable at this point.

Cappa - Sounds good for sure, proper halloween vibes. It's obvious you are no amateur..maybe a more pronounced sub? But honestly this sounds great to me. Mastering will definitely crispen up the highs which is pretty much all this track needs.

Filtersnake - Enjoyed the buildup then it just made me want to shut it off immediately, but this is my personal taste speaking haha. Production wise this sounds really solid, the snare might need a little more space but when you're working with high frequency grinding noises I'm guessing that becomes quite the challenge..creative use and placement of samples for sure.

Soundcloud

this one i've been working on over the past month or so, mostly spent time being frustrated with mixing but then i got my monitors and i'm more or less happy with this final product. normally i lean towards more melody but this was my attempt at kind of a dungeon/hard hitting but minimal sound. idk. C&C appreciated! eager to get to work on the next tune..

@difference 10/10 on the mixdown mate, subbass rattles the place, only thing i can feedback back on is it needs to go somewhere about 1.30 in, adding thing in some other elements or effects!
@cappa sweet bass mate, drums punch through pretty clean too, im 50/50 on the organ though, i reckon your track would benefit from starting right on the 0.50 mark, that would work great
@filtersnake this type of dubstep has never been my cup of tea, but i can fully appreciate your production behind it, high quality stuff

Heres my track, i know its not dubstep but i see a lot of people post other genres on here so i dont see the harm, probably not everyones cup of tea either, let me know if it reminds you of any other producers styles id be intrigued to hear who! :) (It properly kicks in at around 3/4 minute mark)

@LukeRaith: I like it, those hats are very bright which complements the warehousey sounding kick nicely. Lots of space, would dance. When the bass comes in at 4ish minutes it kinda chokes the kick a little bit I feel, would maybe turn it down a tad but it still sounds awesome. Also is that a bit of guitar I hear? Always nice.

@difference: liking this man, the sub is lovely! I would turn down the hats a bit if I were you, and maybe compress them a bit, they sound a little bit disjointed from the rest of the kit. Maybe turn them down and compress the whole kit lightly together? Could just be personal taste..

Here's mine, Jurassic Park inspired dubstep. (difference it actually sounds a little bit like your track, some of the bass melody movement!) Been working on it for ages, recently scrapped the old drums and re-did the whole kit. Not sure where to take it now is the only thing.. moar bass I guess? Thoughts?

Giles Davis: I love your drums bro,they flow very nicely overall a good track maybe you could try something else in their mix it up a bit :)

Filter Snake: I love your build ups mate u got them spot on, i think your synths are layered well. maybe try to mix up the main section of the track :)

Acidrat : bro this is mad!!! i love the vibes but i am not too keen on the synths keep this going, maybe add more drums get the triplets going!!

@ JayRage
I think a fatter sub on the drums would sound great.

@ MilkyThomas
Sounds great. I like it. Think you should add some more reverb to some of the bass. It sounds great in the mix already but it doesn't melt perfectly together with the rest giving it this really digital feel due to being so dry compared to the rest of the track.

@ LukeRaith
I really like it. I think the hihats could need abit of tweaking. Otherwise it's really ambient. It reminds me of music from the game Limbo (which doesn't have precussion.. but otherwise it's really close in feel).

Here is my latest WIP and my first attempt at "drum and bass".. not really trying too hard with the progressions and such just tried putting something together and this is what I ended up with -- really happy for any kind of feedback (play it in 480p! .. and sorry for youtube but soundcloud is getting full :x ):

@Ada: We meet again :3... The track sounds beautiful, and for your first attempt at DnB, I am impressed, job well done... May I ask, how you do your sub? Like what do you have on your channel, and stuff, it sounds really good...

@JayRage: I am gunna have to agree with Ada, make the sub booms bigger... The clap could be a lot sharper also, and the riser, is to sharp, cut a bit of high end off that...

@MilkyThomas: Loving the intro ambience, and the vinyl static, I know my self, I am starting to use vinyl static a lot more... The old radio vocals, always grasp onto me, so good job there! Also, you owe me a new sub, you broke it :W: Great production, really big!

@LukeRaith: Try putting some syncopated rhythm on your hats, or add more percussion, like claves, or other cool sounds... Really unique track, sounds like deep house or something :3

@difference: Really good Rhythm... The vocals are awesome too! :3 Love the DunDunDun sub booms! Very scifi feel! :W:

@dj Cappa: OooOh, this has a very creepy halloween castle vibe... Reminds me of "Creepy Castle" on Donkey Kong 64 :3 The drop is pretty massive... The kick, and snare could be more up front though... they are really hard to hear, and get drowned out pretty fast... Other than that sounding pretty good... You might want to lower the hats a little bit also, they are more up front than your kick and snare, unless you want them like that

I got a new track... Start working on it yesterday morning...

Thank you so much SMOR3S. Really glad you like it. :D

The sub is just a standard sin-triangle wave in Massive with some 40Hz boosted, anything below 15Hz removed and everything above 140Hz removed. Also abit of reverb with some imaging to make it stay mono in the middle. :)

That was awesome! I really love all those drum rolls (if you wanna trade samples... anytime ;-) ;-) ). The mix is pretty good. I would give abit more volume to the drums, percussion and snare relative to the synths also give the sub abit more breathing. But really cool stuff! :4:

Also, do the basslines get repetitive? O_o

@NITEMERE
Lmao nice sample at the start, I forgot what program that was, I remember playing with that in elementary. Anyways, overall a decent track. I love that midrange bass you have, the drop can be more hyped imo, it seems really dry and lacks a couple things to make it flourish and really slap like more rides, white noise effects, perhaps an arp and rushed melody to give it that extra boost. I like your moombah sound. The screamo vocal is a nice addition. I just feel that it could use some work on the drop, more so just additions than revisions in your case (if I were writing this). Overall a nice track mate!

@AcidRat
Love the subbass intro, the melody sort of reminds me of the palace by m machine. I love your mild percussion. That guitar doesn't not fit well with your melody imo, it sounds mildly off. Overall a nice addition nontheless once the pad disappears. The vocal could use a little work, like widening and reverb or delay. I don't mind your build up synth. That white noise is a nice addition for the drop. I personally was disappointed by the drop but it has a nice groove to it. Reminds me of a LoZ dungeon. I personally feel the guitar or the actual melodies itself could be removed, but its your track and my opinion. I enjoy the different vibe it brings from your traditional dubstep song. Overall a decent track. Again I feel your drop needs more livening up with rush rides or white noise or heavy basses. The drop could definitely use an arp or more drum sounds/fx to give a feel of liveliness.

@Jayrage
I love once the kick kicks in. Very funky. . It's a very simple yet effective beat. That riser could be turned down a bit though, it kind of startled me at first. I love your funky synths to accompany your drop. Everything is sounding nice and groovy. I would love to hear a revised snare/clap imo but it definitely adds to that dirty south esque vibe. Overall a nice track mate!

@filtersnake
I love the rush of bpm in this one. I like your arp in the background and your filtering melody. Your drop is sexy. I love it.Very gnarly growl. Nice and wide. The second drop is fucking sick bro. I love your piano arp for the drop. That 80s snare roll inbetween your drops is a wonderful additional. I love your use of delay and arrangement of all the vocals. Vey cool. Im loving this remix. Keep it up!

@marlin
track says unavailable?

@dj Cappa
Very eerie. Reminds me of casper for some reason. or the 1950s. I love once your kick and snare come in, the snare could maybe use like a dB or 2. :) I enjoyed your melodic addition that comes with the drums. I like your nerufunk reese that is introduced for the build up. The drop itself is quite endearing. It's not too drastic or minimal, it flows nicely with the whole theme you have going on. Again that snare could be turned up a dB or 2 to make it more prominent. I love your minimalistic reese basses! Great track man

@difference
I like your wahwahwah at the start. I could imagine hearing this while playing doom or something. Very eerie use of those pads/choir type sounds. Very cool and sinister. The hats could use a little bit of reverb imo. I like how you introduced the dialogue then the drop. Very flowing, very minimalistic and suspenseful :) I like your "DUM DUM DUM" subbass that is during the drop. I liek your rush rides that build up the tension of the track. A very minimal and simple beat but highly effective. I could imagine hearing this in a dark space type game. Cool truck bruh!

@Lukeraith
I love your intro. It reminds me alot of deep house styles. This track has potential. I would enjoy listening to this while I study :) Very minimal but has a nice vibe to it. imo it gets a little boring but I could see that your introducing new sounds as it progresses which is admirable. Very progressive and techy. Your second drop is sick, very heavy for it's style. I think your clap could be brought up a bit through compression or another dB to give it more prominence in your mix. I think your filtered wubs hhas a little too much resonance imo but everything is sounds nice and smooth. Great work friend

@MilkyThomas
Track unavailable!

@Ada
I instantly fell in love with your melody and choice of synth mixture. That drop is sick!!!!! I love this track, very jazzy but very videogame/anime/futuristic esque vibe. I LOVE when you introduce that subbass and your arps with the dialogue. This song is so cool dude. Im loving it. I personally feel your dnb loops can use some widening to accompany your wide melodies, just so it sounds that much more bigger and has more bang. Overall such a beautiful track man, I would love to hear the finished product!

@SMOR3S
Very sick intro, Im loving your synth mixtures. That wide pad really makes a big difference. The melody is pretty decent, reminds me of hardstyle in a sense :) Once the drums and sounds come in I can really feel your beat man, Im loving that trippy robotic synth sound. The drop is SICK! Im loving the sketchy harsh sounds youve got going on. This is definitely on its way to a sick tune bruh. Maybe your snare could be compressed more or the high end brought out just a tad. I personally feel it could use more dynamics in turn of melodic arrangement of the drop, perhaps a little different during the second time around, but I fall victim to this as well lol. Keep it up :)

Hey guys, I basically wanted to share this dnb vocal track I finally am almost ready to master. any feedback is greatly appreciated :)

MassAphekt that is some quality stuff! Love it. I can really feel it and I think the mix is great. I've listened to it like 5 times and still can't decide if there is anything I'd change. Really professional stuff and I love the glitchy vocals. If you wanna trade any samples too <3 ;-) ;-) or I could perhaps make a remix of your song?

And thank you so much for the kind words. :D <3

SMOR3S: When listening to the song multiple times it gets maybe a tad bit repetitive. I like repetitive stuff though so I don't have a problem with it. Depends really on what audience you aiming for? If it's mainstream then it is repetitive... but it really depends on the audience. =P

I'll fix up some Skype tomorrow and PM you the username. :-D

Okay cool! Sounds good!

@MassAphekt: @__@ fuck dude, that is crazy good... Makes mine look like poop XD... In terms of melodic arrangement, what do you suggest? like add more... I am not really into growl stuff, I like more wobbly, high pitch stuff, like how I had...
