Yeah bro trust me. And the solder contacts are really shitty. I cut open one of the cables once and it had a bunch of grime and dirt in the solder. Plus the some of the wire was eroded and the ground wasn't even braided. Talk about garbage quality. I bet reason manufactures their parts in china.ehbrums1 wrote:nopeSunkLo wrote:I heard that the routing cables used in Reason aren't shielded so if you use a lot of them, eventually a bunch of hum builds up and eats up your headroom.
Reaper uses gold plated jacks, which everyone knows improves your sound quality. No point in denying it anymore, Reaper's the alpha DAW.

Ableton will go the way of the Dreamcast once Bitwig is released.
Imagine that, being outcompeted by something called BITWIG
I'm still a Renoise user so no one's insults can actually touch me. "Deerrrp I don't get trackers durrrrrrp" Plebs!

Also, this whole time I thought it was called BitwiNg. Shows how much I pay attention.

Keep making nu-breakcore with bitcrushed 1ms clips of sampled elevator noise and radio static. And keep using MSN messenger version 3.12beta via command line while you're at it. It looks like you're producing in microsoft excel with a skin developed for colorblind people.Genevieve wrote:I'm still a Renoise user so no one's insults can actually touch me. Hey bitches, I've been messing with MusE, this awesome open-source JACK linux DAW. If linux liked my Saffire 6, I'd have abandoned Windows/FLStudio by now for this sexy application.
Check it out: http://muse-sequencer.org/

I haven't even looked at the mixer yet, but I already love the way MIDI is routed and plugin management. While it's not as cosmetically appealing as the competition, there is a sense of uniformity between its interface and the operating system's interface, despite MusE being a Qt app while my DE/WM is GTK2-based

I didn't read every reply here, but I am surprised at how few people are using presonus studio one 2? I have tried most daws and workflow wise, it stands head and shoulders above anything IMO. I really don't get how no one is using it. I mean especially with so many using cracked software these days. I'm not calling you all pirates but just saying everyone I've introduced to it has stuck to it. If you haven't already, give it a go!
I'm also surprised at all the hate cubase has been getting here? I am a studio one guy nowadays but when I fancy a change its always cubase I open up. I agree it's a steep learning curve but once you get into it that software is invincable! It can do anything you want it to! I read someone say its a bad workflow? I can't agree cause a guy I collab with regularly uses it and he is by far the fastest producer I've ever come across. I mean seriously quick. So trust once you get into it you will have very few probs. Its as capable as any daw, much more capable than some.
Time to slate a couple. Fruity loops - lol! Stop calling it fl, it's fruity loops. It's fruity. Fruity. Enough said. Actually no. It is slow, unstable, awful workflow. All this sh*t I hear... "Oh it can do this, that and that at a click of a button". What? Just like every other daw? It's just an unstable and cluttered sequencer. Granted, it's fruity. But it's far from a professional solution.
Reason - still no vst? Really? For gods sake get a grip! Why not? Why would you deny paying customers such a simple feature that is available in EVERY PROFFESSIONAL DAW? even non professional sequencers like that fruity one have it! I have a lot of hate for reason as it was the first daw I used. With no clue what I was doing it took me all day before I realised there was no way to use these wonderful vst's I had acquired. Now I've gained some experience I did go back to it to see what all the fuss was about and I just found it limiting.
Live is good, just not for me.
Didn't like logic but again, just wasn't for me. Didn't like the look or feel.
Anyway I urge those of you who have never tried studio one v2 give it a go. It's basically cubase but with a better workflow. Which makes sense cause I read the majority of the developers came from steinberg.

TLDR
I'm a year into having Logic. Before that I'd been using ProTools for 8 or 9 years (they wanted $400 to keep up with my mac's operating system - so bye bye). Logic still blows my mind at how easy and effective it is. Everything from automation to plugins to editing is so much faster and easier. It really let's me be as creative as I want to be. I love Logic. <3 xoxoxo
