I got the Ultrasone Pro 900's and I can't say enough good things about them. They are truly some next level shit and can be had for aBOUT $300 on ebay and they retail for $550. I compared them with Beyerdynamics DT series and AKG701's, as well as to my old HD280 Pro's. First off, no headphone is totally flat, but they are close and very accurate.
In a nutshell, the Pro 900's have a slight bass emphasis and are a tad bright, but this actually smoothes out during the LONG break in period due to the titanium drivers. The mids are still very crisp and clear. The highs are extremely detailed, but not fatiguing, though they may be more fatiguing then other headphones, but as I stated, this smoothes out over time. The Pro 900's are the most detailed headphones I have ever heard and if there is a harsh frequency in your mix, these headphones will definitely tell you. The bass goes extremely low and it is extremely tight and responsive with no decay. They really are awesome for producing and listening to bass music. Just keep in mind that when you mix with these headphones your song is going to sound a tad bass heavy with these headphones (which I like), but just learn them and account for it. Moreover, they have S Logic technology which puts the drivers at an offset which has multiple advantages: (1) knocks off 3-4db with the same perceived loudness (Ultrasone is keeping your ear health in mind), (2) gives a huge sound stage. Lastly, they are some of the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. Right up there with the Beyerdynamics which might have a slight edge on comfort but thats depending on the person because they are kind of heavy and bulky where the Ultrasone's aren't. Well that's all I can think of for now. I actually have a video review I made for them but never uploaded it. It's like 20 minutes long, if your interested I can upload it on vimeo or something tomorrow.
