List of asscheek sequencers:
-Ableton
-Logic
-Reason
-FL Studio
-Renoize
-Studio One
-Bitwig
-Reaper (less asscheeky)

List of non-asscheek sequencers:
-MusE
-qTractor
-LMMS
-Darkwave
-Open Octave Studio (MusE fork)
-Audacity
-Wavosaur
-Ardour (although the main devs are asscheeks; speaking with them is like speaking with a Microsoft representative)

If you want Reaper to look shite, just load up the v1 'classic' skin. ;)

Reaper caters for all tastes for all people. Reaper's good for you like vitamins children, don't forget to brush your teeth. :D

I'm a creature of habit and I hated software for YEARS and still used hardware sequencers.
Friend taught me how to use Cubase SX3 and never looked back really.
I'm on Cubase 5 now and know it like the back of my hand

I find it hard to get to grips with new ways of working which is why I find it hard with my Macbook pro using Studio One.

I guess my point is there really is no best software out there just what you know/get on best with
Over with Yoda impression I am now

Actually since I started using Reaper I haven't needed to brush my teeth, and they much more white now. My complexion's better and my hair has a nice shine to it. I've been lifting way heavier at the gym and sexy womens on the bus are making much longer eye contact.

Aside from the recent random crashing of my computer, and random CPU overloads.. Logic owns. Workflow isn't FL studio fast, but it gets the job done

For this reason, I almost omitted Reaper from the asscheek list. :4:

Bro can you quit talking about this FOSS Linux-only shit? If there's a seriously good FOSS DAW, it's LMMS. It's a full-featured FL clone and compiles for all major platforms: Win, Lin, Unix(Mac included) :, whereas the ones you mentioned are JACK-dependent and only compile on Linux.

If LMMS is a clone of FL Studio and FL is asscheek, then doesn't that allude that LMMS is also asscheek?

Definitely not. LMMS is cross-platform asscheek.

I would give anything to have it match FL's workflow. I wish id never started on FL because now I miss it :(
Even ableton doesn't cut it for me compared to FL workflow wise

I started with FL.. no wait ACID but I wouldn't count that. Anyway although FL has a good workflow I prefer Ableton just because I'm sample heavy especially for drums. You know like taking out of the ordinary sounds and making beats with them and I find it harder to do that in FL IMO plus i have Ableton set up so Sound Forge is the main editor for my samples. Also the browser in FL is a work flow killer. I need something that I can navigate through quickly. And on top of that some the the simplest task i find harder to accomplish in FL compared to Ableton. Also the piano roll as much as people love it(I do as well) I can't stand how the drawing of notes is done.

i use studio one v2.5.1

i cant explain what makes it good but after using logic/reason/Flstudio/cubase/sonar/reaper/renoise/ableton i found a daw after years i will stick with

its new code so no lagging gimics that are dated etc,

its weak in VSTI but many 3rd party synths to choose from

try the free trial and see for your self,

all DAW have pros and cons and i tend to use FL studio still for complex programming of chords as the piano roll has a few features other daws do not have,

but having said that i heard guys in reaper create amazing sounds and also shit ones and same goes for every DAW, if you give a blind driver a formula one car he wont do fast laps and use it how it meant to be, same goes for the daw, find one that you like and stick to it learn it and know it back to back and will be good for anyone in the long run

bla bla bla bla

enough type more music i say
