Cool idea, dubstep in general is very fragmented. I'm forced to used 20 or more blogs/resources to find new music and events. A central hub would be nice.

if only there was a place where people who enjoy dubstep could go and learn more about tunes and releases, find events, just discuss the music in general, and maybe even a cool little place where people could talk about just about anything

lol i tried creating a forum, using bbpres for wordpress and it was a complete disaster! i am still learnign though, yeah thats why i asked the forum for writers, i listen to a broad range of music, but my knowledge of dubstep is limited, not course im ignorant but just dont have the time to trawl through it all, if anyone is properly interested let me know.

I guess you need to ask whether you need to have another blog.

If so - then what gap are you filling? Are you planning on doing something different to what already exists - since there are a HUGE amount of music blogs already - covering so many aspects of bass music and the culture.

I'd like to see you succeed and get this off the ground - but unless you have a think about your strategy and what you want to achieve with it - then you'll struggle.

A general call-for-writers on DSF might not get you much reward - but genuinely checking current writers out, and approaching them individually about perhaps featuring on your blog, or getting a collective together of like-minded people - and you'll probably have a better and more consistent chance at it.

Hope this helps buddy.

Alex.

"any writers, who wana join have to make a mix to show off their good taste, this will seperate the men from the boys and it cant just be dubstep, as that is too easy....leave links here...

here is an example of one i made for my dreamscape radio show"

unless i misunderstood..

btw the way does anyone know of any plugins which make wordpress run faster.

i realise there are a lot of blogs out there already, an almost infinite amount, this isnt my first blog though, i just recently upgraded to wordpress thats all. butid say its the first one im making proper amounts ofeffort with, as my first ep is coming out in november.

to my advantage is i have a good following on soundcloud, almost 2500, 1000 followers on mixcloud, so plenty of space to advertise my site, and some links with artists, it all about promotion, linking other artists and creating a communtiy. becoming a beacon, i dont want it to jsut be bass music, that would mean i am jsut a fad like all those other blogs that have "jsut cropped up", i want people who use my blog to discover stuff, hidden gems, from all genres, as i listen to a broad spectrum of music. its a bit naieve i agree and i will end up becoming niche but thats ok, for now at least i am happy. :4:
