This religious fear is really like homophobia, where guys think that every gay guy wants to get into their pants and they need to have their guard up.

I've known a bunch of religious people and some of my best friends were and even when I was younger no one tried to convert me. If you're working with them for so long and they haven't tried to convert you yet, they won't. I'd imagine going door to door and trying to convert people and getting a door slammed in your face 9 out of 10 times is a bummer. So why would they choose to do it in their private lives?

I keep saying it. But irrationality is irrationality. It doesn't matter if it's based on religion, race or just being an irrational jackass. Being an "atheist" doesn't make you "rational" or "a man of reason", just an atheist [/endrant. Not directed at anyone in this thread]

jehova's witnesses are not trying to get into heaven like most christian religions (they also do not like to be referred to as christian even though they clearly are)
144 thousand of them are chosen to become angels after armageddon but to be one of these people is not the goal per se, as there is a lot of work and responsibility involved in it.. you basically become one of Jehova's henchmen

The rest of them get to live forever in an earthly paradise free of technology etc.. going back to the garden of eden after the original sin has been absolved sort of thing
