Regarding uplifting films, there's one where they beat up Jesus.

The pursuit of happiness.
Where a guy has to make him and his kid homeless before bowing down to the marvel that is capitalism, even though it was capitalism that made him and his kid homeless.... that's the american dream mothafuckas.

Rewatched The Place Beyond the Pines, just as good as the screening in the theater.
Probably my fave movie in awhile.

Dark Skies, meh it was Paranormal Activity mixed with a a high school level writers rendition of an X-Files episode.

'Quite' as in the British colloquialism or the dictionary definition?

For me it's the former. It was ok. Nothing special... at all.

*Spoiler*

The most interesting aspect was trying to guess which one would die or if both would cop it (no pun intended).
They kept it obvious though -
ethnic = merked
big hollywood star = not merked

Yawn.
