Recording poopy farts in a toilet bowl

I basically just farted the koan sound snare which got me thinking, has anyone done this, how would you set it up, pre-recording foods to get the right amount of air, how to push out the 200hz pitch every time, etc?

I find that drinking lots of soda helps, but that's the 300 - 500hz snare, mix it with some beans and you can definitely get that slappy 200hz snare if you add a little compression!

Caffeine, protein powder, and peanut butter. Trust me bro, it'll be super meaty but still have that transient sting.

It'll take them ages to get the streak marks off the bass bins.

finally a thread with an actual question again! i would say set up three mics (thats how the film guys do it stimes) to get a stereo sound out of it and try to set an underwater mic underneath you to mix in the low end subtile (if you are on the toilet)

Close mike the anus with a 'flat' mic, like an sm57. Pick up the room or bowl sound with a pair of km184's.

Make sure they're matched if you're doing X/Y. Don't want phase discrepancies fucking stuff up.

Also you could point a directional mic like a shotgun mic straight at your cornhole to capture some of that inner colon resonance. Don't forget a windsock though.

Some old guys swear it makes a difference miking the toilet resevoir. I'd say if you've got the money and enough channels on your interface, get some piezo contact mics and stick them to your stomach. You'll pick up some of those deep vibes straight from the source ya feel me? Roots quality, soul mojo style.

Why a toilet bowl specifically? You could expand your sonic palette with the sink.

I'd probably just record some impulse samples of the sink and a few different toilets and then record dry and find the best one in the mixdown stage. Some people would argue that takes the life out of it though and reduces the realism.

Why has no one done an IR of someone shitting in a toilet bowl. Some should do It and send it to Altiverb. I mean really have you heard the massive Verb that comes from a Toilet Bowl during a violent onslaught of diarrhea. It's pretty much the ultimate reverb and its less than 50feet away.

i would suggest recording in a restaurant big bathroom as the home toilet is rather small.and gives unpleasant resonances in the low end. plus you cand have a distant mic picking the reverb of the room so you have tail to you farty snare.
and about the long ones i think we can go through the process if splitting them in three, lo mid hi, and apply further processing right?
