What are your opinions on "Riddim" style Tear-Out tunes?

Post by Static D0gma » Mon May 13, 2013 10:38 pm

I'm talking about stuff like AD, Akira, JAM PRD, Subfultronik, and guys of the like.

I've recently really been getting into it, but I used to hate it when I listen to mostly 'real' Dubstep and Brostep.

Now I find myself listening to a lot of Tear-Out, and I was curious what other people on here thought about the 'Riddim' scene.

I know it's dumb, but it's just what a lot of people call it. Wouldn't know what else to call that style really.

pretty good in small doses. but it is pretty repetitive to me. AD and the Monsters camp produce some good tunes.

I listen to stuff like Compa, Kahn, and Mala, but I really listen to all types of Dubstep (Brostep, Post-Dubstep, etc.)

Fucking stupid name.

When badklaat and requake started to get attention it just felt to me like not that goood jakes ripoffs.
I feel that over the time they kinda developed their own style and i like their tunes requake esp. But 95 percent of people that jumped on it make generic crap, Jacko's GetdarkerTV set is a great example how dull can it be.

Almost exactly word-for-word what i was gonna reply in this thread haha

Requake and Badklaat had a few decent tunes in about 2011 (Thalys, This Is '96 for example), although definitely more just 'fun' tunes for the dancefloor rather than any real interesting depth or production value, but most people pushing a similar sound just make fucking annoying music that it sounds like theyve knocked up in about 5 minutes.
