Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
I downloaded Synth1 and don't see any presets in it. Are there any good free Synth1 presets for dubstep available? Can anyone tell me how to load them into the synth I have downloaded if so? Also any other free synthesisers with good presets, or that have good presets available to download?
Thanks for any help!

^+1
Presets can be cool but try not to use them too much.
One day there will be a sound that you want to make which nobody has created a preset for, and you'll regret not learning synthesis.
IGNORE THIS PART! I MISREAD.
Read the sylenth1 manual, watch tutorials on youtube

1. Avoid presets, they don't help you learn synthesis.
2. Sylenth is for more analog and fat sounds, not very ideal for dubstep basses.

Re: Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
I want to learn to make the dubstep sounds myself and ordered "How to Make a Noise". I also want to get a good collection of presets to use. Do you guys only use sounds you make yourselves and no presets? Even if so, I don't want to be that much of an extremist or purist or whatever. I'd like to learn to make some use of both methods. I'm trying to make something to group the sounds I like in a way I can easily go back and find the ones I want in fact. That's a project in itself.Skulkr wrote:1. My impression is that Sylenth and Synth1 are different programs, and I ended up not getting Sylenth for whatever reason...I forget. Then my copy of Synth1 doesn't appear to have presets so....
Re: Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
I tried downloading it a few times today but the big green download buttons always took me to some damned spam shit I have no interest in. And I avoided as many as I clicked on. If anyone knows a page where you actually can download it free, please post it.ChadDub wrote:Man I need to get Sylenth again that shit was dope.

Synth1 is freeware.
Re: Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
relying on presets to make songs is pretty bad imo you wont see things, i used to be like this and learned not to, i ended up making better synths than what i used to download

Re: Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
I hope to be able to do that too, but for now at least I can play around with putting different ideas together using existing presets instead of spending hours only trying to make a particular sound or two. In "How To Make A Noise" the author points out that sometimes presets you find will do ok, and sometimes they do ok with some tweaking. Since so far I don't know anything about manipulating sounds it's good that I can use presets to practice doing things with or I wouldn't be doing anything at all. The book uses Vanguard which I downloaded but in trying to open it it says an install-on-demand component is required and I have no idea what that means, so now I'll spend half a day or whatever trying to find that out...Dahneboy wrote:relying on presets to make songs is pretty bad imo you wont see things, i used to be like this and learned not to, i ended up making better synths than what i used to download

Re: Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
What's torrenting? I got the impression that massive is several hundred dollars and can't afford that. How about wobbleboss? I think that's only about a hundred, and I saw an advertisement where they were doing some impressive dubstep sounds with that and I got the impression that some of the presets are good for dubstep too.Dahneboy wrote:not to be a dick or anything, stop torrenting and buy massive, read the manual you learn alot by dedication and motivationnopEda wrote:Also any other free synthesisers with good presets, or that have good presets available to download?

Re: Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
haha there are actually preset packs with dubstep presets. google and you will find. What's neat is some of the presets use the pitch bend wheel to modulate the speed of the lfo and it's stepped by fractional note tempo synced values. semi quavers and shit.

Re: Good dubstep presets for Synth1?
I don't know what it all means but it sounds cool. I've seen those packs for Massive but don't want to spend that much money. Do you know of any you would recommend for any free synths? Or maybe wobbleboss...I think I can afford that if it's enough different from the free synths to be worth the money. At this point of ignorance it seems any of them should make pretty much the same sounds if they're adjusted the same way, but I don't even know enough to understand whether that's true or not.Artie Fufkin wrote:haha there are actually preset packs with dubstep presets. google and you will find.
