RICEYRICE:Hey, this is to the Christian anon that messaged EDM Moments. I'm Christian too, I love EDM, raves, and all that PLUR stuff. I think that raves and PLUR is fine to attend and practice, but be sure you're guarding your heart if you do. There's temptation to do drugs, have sex, and to just be stupid. I've been a whole part of that. I 'quit' the scene a while ago because I really wanted to follow God. If you want to play it safe, just don't be in that kind of environment. Message me, anon (:
this is to the Christian anon. I'm Catholic and got interested in rave culture when I was younger too, but didn't actually start going til I got older. I don't think believing in PLURR would damage your belief in God. in fact, a prayer that we said at church a few weeks ago actually mentioned peace, love, respect, & unity

I thank God for blessing me with the opportunities to attend events where I can listen to beautiful music and meet the most wonderful people. it's all about the mindset!
ANONYMOUS:My friend and i have grown up loving edm, everything from happy hardcore, to kaskade, to trap to dubstep and back. We have gone to many upon multiple edm shows. But he refuses to take mdma. I have asked him only twice, and both maybes. I dont want to push it. But i just know that he'll love it, and i want to drop together. What should i do
While I do think you have the best interest in mind, you shouldn’t push him to do something he’s not willing to accept. Give it some time. If he doesn’t want to take MDMA then I guess that’s his choice that you need to respect. You could probably point him in the right directions of using MDMA that is convincing enough, but it’s really up to him in the end.

edm is a fad though
another 5 years and people will go back to calling music by genre, not by umbrella-terms-for-idiots-who-dont-really-understand-what-they're-listening-to

that's kinda what I meant. It's only those types of people who actually call it EDM.

of course it's a fad, every genre of music that has existed has been a fad. it's the nature of how these things work: people start making a certain sound, sometimes it gets popular mainstream attention, and then people get tired of it and move on to something else
with all this skrillmau5 teeny bopper EDM, it applies even more. the music is so gimmicky that it has little staying power. everyone i know who was ever into skrillex got bored a couple months later
