p'raps a bit too commercial and 'purple drank'ish for all you too hip to be hipsters but I like the A$AP Rocky album.

I thought it was a real let down after his previous mix tape he released. I mean it's not bad but it's just miles off being as good.

If anything it's not purple drank-ish enough

Yeah, I guess the mixtape is probably better. Still like the album though (most of it anyway).

Andy Stott 'Luxury Problems' is a good album too (I only heard it this year, but think it was released at the end of 2012).

Just listened to the DJ Koze album thanks to this thread, quality album. Cheers!

I don't know man. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's crap. By no means. But from the bits and pieces I've heard and seen posted on DSF/Facebook, it doesn't really excite me either.

Some of the tracks on that remix album last year were good though.

No I'm sorry the newest album has nothing going on in it at all. It's music for people who purely like things to sound "nice" and that's it

Okay, so what is exactly is wrong with music sounding nice?

Does it all need to be edgy?

I think he's saying that it's just really unengaging.

Yeah there is nothing to it to me apart from it sounding vaguely sonically pleasant. I'm not wanting to go on an on about it but when you're going to make a statement about how anyone who doesn't like a monumentally middle of the road album is somehow immature I can't help but call bullshit.

I like Sia's album "colour the small one" as well

You just don't get as much bullshit offline when someone says they don't like something.

WHY DID I GET INVOLVED.

I'm locking this thread for myself.

I will be sorely missed, I know.

You seem to have a strong dislike of all music with any form of melody..
