i love trailrunning. also i started to go to the gym 4 months ago and gained 10 kg so far (had 72 kg when started on 184cm i was thin like a matchstik tbh). right now i'm a little fucked cause deadlifts give me the most terrible headaches ever - internets say it comes from high blood pressure and "strained" breathing. goal is somewhere between 85-90kg.

i watch my breathing now, but ever since i had this the frist time it keeps coming back, even though its not that painful anymore. so i just reduced the weight for now and hope it fades. strangely this really only happens with deadlifts, with squats i can push till i drop nothing happens.

Lol someone posted this on facebook
One ejaculation contains the same amount of protein, vitamins, minerals and amino acids as eight ounces of steak, ten eggs, six oranges and two lemons
no wonder I'm not making any gains.

Serious question time;

Is anyone here working on a split as opposed to total body workouts? Am currently on a 4 day split but have had a couple of people suggest that whilst I'm working up to build strength that 3 x total body sessions a week would be more productive than a 4 day split.

Did some reading on this and found the following;
Beginners to strength training are defined by how quickly they can recover from exercise. For this reason, as a beginner, it is best to get as much work in as possible each week. If you do a full-body routine three times per week, that means you're training your entire body roughly 12 times per month (144 times per year). A body-part split, hitting different body parts over a week is going to train your whole body one (maybe two) times per week, which is 4-8 times per month (48-96 times per year).
Maths adds up, just wondering at what stage someone is no longer called a 'beginner' and should make the switch from full body to split.

How quickly do you recover?

Get your macros in order and try doing this for 3 months. If you make significantly more gains, this is the way to go for you. Right?

I'm leaving a day in between sessions, DOMS generally lasting 48-72hrs after I've worked a particular part, so recovery time is fine.

Macros are fine, and what I'm currently doing is working for me however just wanted opinions on one vs. the other. Or is it a case of what works, works?

Yeah I've seen this video on bodybuilding.com of some super ripped dude who does 100 reps of each exercise. He goes for reps over weights. All about having knowledge of your body. And like, I think when you've already got a solid frame to work from, you can do whatever you want and any potential losses can be regained easily. The knowledge you gain is worth the lean mass that you would've otherwise gained.

I'm cutting even though I don't have that much muscle anymore. But I know how to gain so I don't think it matters a whole lot.

Didn't mean that your macros sucked, just that that's the only way to know if it's the workout or your food and shit.

Have you tried taking aspirin to reduce pressure?

I'm bulking until I get back from Glastonbury, then will go into cutting before Ibiza at the end of summer. Still haven't quite figured out how to redo my meals whilst reducing carbs, get proper sketchy if I haven't had any :?
