In hip hop music, interpolation refers to using a melody – or portions of a melody (often with modified lyrics) – from a previously recorded song, but re-recording the melody instead of sampling it.
Just tell ppl you mean to do it and take th +1 music knowledge badge lol.

Back in 2007 my pal and I managed to unknowingly recreate about 75% of a Bjork song before his GF said "Hey, that sounds like...."

i dont know anything about subconscious influences there might be in my music - but i try to straight up steal shit constantly. i often start out trying to imitate something, ending up with sometimes more sometimes less "original" stuff. something like "oh damn, this tune sounds like dis n dat now" didnt happen to me yet.

i made an atlas césar track once that i thought sounded good and then very recently realized that it has the same bassline as "no one likes a smartarse". untold is a man of consequence. never meant to parody his low ends
i think its the 14th track in the Dubbelstep dubplate mix. ive long since deleted the original recording
