Funny how things can get de-railed over something as trivial as a picture. any thoughts on the words ?

I agree with what you say but I feel sad that I feel so futile in the face of such sensationalism and hyperbole

absolutely

it couldn't be more obvious that this act was done as a political statement, and it's incredibly facepalm-worthy when the media responds by literally covering this shit as much as physically possible. THAT'S WHAT THEY WANT YOU TO DO, YOU IDIOTS

& good on Boya Dee for resisting the lucre
Your comparison would work if the woman were lying on the floor in a room full of convicted rapists and there's a cash prize tucked inside her fanny. One person resisting the temptation isn't going to stop her getting raped.

Do you genuinely think that if one media outlet 'shows restraint' the others will all follow suit?

lol @ believing anything boya dee says...
That analogy doesn't quite equate either.
I was referring to a random witness, taken unawares, resisting posting vid online.
We know that the media's lack of constraint only mirrors what is tolerated among it's consumers.

But what really matters is whether you yourself
would put such free & diversive publicity out there, for money or notoriety, particularly in light of this incident.

If you answer Yes I reckon you're abrogating a personal responsibility towards the rest of us, however you rationalize it.
And if you say No then I hope life avails you some future experiences that evince more faith in the rest of us
because that connectedness & empathy is our ultimate impediment to savagery
opposing the cynicism, apathy & alienation that creates & fosters an environment that accepts it as marketable.
