Sampler VSTs?
yo m7s
im looking for a sampler vst that works a bit like the one that comes with reason (forgot the name)
basically i use battery 4 drums and stuff but battery doesnt assign each note to your midi so i want another sampler that works like the one in reason
ive tried alchemy but thats more for granular stuff
ive also tried shortcircuit but its a bit naff
basically im just looking for a sampler that lets me load in a sample, choose the note of the original and then it like pitches it up/down in relation to my midi piano roll so i can play each note kinda thing
cant really explain it well but i guess you get what i mean, i am retarded
any ideas?

Re: Sampler VSTs?
Imageline Directwave is pretty close to the NN-XT from Reason (but way better). It ain't quite Kontakt, but it is a tidy sampler imo.
Let us know how you get on with the plugin suggestions in this thread.

Re: Sampler VSTs?
Yeah I was into Directwave for a while since it was the only sampler I knew of that could actually record samples. But then I found out about Geist which can do the same and is a bit sexier imo.

Re: Sampler VSTs?
A recent addition to the sampler is Nuance by New Sonic Arts. It looks very clean and easy to use for basic sampling. (http://www.newsonicarts.com/html/nuance.php)

Re: Sampler VSTs?
Shortcircuit is amazing. You're probably put off by the interface, but it's insanely powerful. Does what you're asking easily. Shortcircuit2 has a lot of improvements, give it a chance. Anyway here's a very unknown one that is similar but with a slicker interface that is still being updated www.tx16wx.com

Re: Sampler VSTs?
Why would he switch DAWs just to use a sampler? Daft answer.

Re: Sampler VSTs?
How do you get it to pitch up and down a sample on multiple notes? I looked through the manual but I couldn't find it or figure it out.Electric_Head wrote:The tx16wx is a nice sampler.
I prefer it to short circuit at the moment.
