That's what my analog filters, MOTU pre-amps and tube overdrive pedal are for ;p But I agree, all NI Synths sound kinda thin to me...I like the sounds, but the tones aren't very rich.claudedefaren wrote:Yeah Absynth is definitely the one synth to rule them all, but as far as getting an analog tone out of it I ALWAYS get better results with Twin 2. Those two for me, pretty much all I need.
That said, new toys are fun, and I'm intrigued by the low low low price tag..

Apparently there is a workaround but no actual info on it anywhere, can someone help me out?!
KVR has a whole thread on this.

Yeah I'm not gonna go for it either. Watched their vids and it seems like a rompler more than anything
Also, Rapture 2 is probably coming up given this price drop

Re: Cakewalk Rapture on Sale from $99 - $19.99
It's far from a ROMpler, very powerful synth especially when you start editing and importing wavetables. Their ROMplerish synth is Dimension Pro which is also on sale. I was thinking Rapture 2 would be out soon as well when they did this same sell a year ago, so I dunno.
It works in OSX Lion, just not the installer. You have to manually install the synth. Here are the steps: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 84f22b5357

I've been using this synth for years.
It is very powerful.
I wouldn't post it here just because it's cheap.

www.money2.nl and you should be sortedGenevieve wrote:Jesus Christ, why does every webshop these days require you to have money on your account already? Like a year ago I could just transfer cash from my bank account on the fly using paypal.
I missed out on a fucking audiodamage sale because of this too.
FUCK them.

And there is a way easier way, just the guy wasn't posting it up and was only helping through PMs, this was like a year ago.

Shit, is this a common bug or is it renoise?
When I turn on the portamento, I can hear it when I play the notes in real time. But when they're playing in my DAW, it's gone.
Edit: got it to work!

Re: Cakewalk Rapture on Sale from $99 - $19.99
The easiest way is to unpack the installer and manually copy the files to the right directories, then get someone else's working plist, edit it with your key, then and add it to the proper place the synth checks. The reason he did it via PM is probably because he was sharing his plist file. The methos in the link does work it's just not easy.Sinergy wrote:Yeah I've tried it, it just won't work.

Seems like they don't have Sweden among the country billing options... Is there anything to do, or will I just have to pass up on this one?
...NO!

You would be best off talking to their customer support

Re: Cakewalk Rapture on Sale from $99 - $19.99
Doubtful, people have said their support consists of saying it doesn't support Lion and it was mentioned on the purchase site.
There's a 15 minute video on youtube detailing how to get it working on Lion, search for it. I can't say if it works myself but I have heard from people that it did. Seems it requires files from a previous installation. (The video can't be posted here as it has some questionable content.)

Re: Cakewalk Rapture on Sale from $99 - $19.99
I bought Z3ta+ when it went on sale for 20 bucks thinking how sweet it would be. What I found was that it was a fairly unpleasant synth to use. At least for me. I really dislike Z3ta+ and I regret buying it even though it was 20 dollars. Now a days I shy away from buying stuff just because it's super cheap. I'm actually finding the few free synths that I use to be more useful to me than the ones I've paid for. Go figure.fragments wrote:So just curious, do the lot of you just buy stuff when it's on sale for this cheap? I used buy things I'd never really thought about before just because it was cheap. Most of that stuff I rarely use these days.
Re: Cakewalk Rapture on Sale from $99 - $19.99
How do y'all go about making reeses in Rapture? When I compare them to other synths, they tend to lack a lot of meat and are a little harsh in the highs and beefing them up by layering a sine into them they don't tend to get better
