@bass jacka-quality tune. mix down was great and you captured quite an atmosphere. loved the percussion but felt some of the breaks were too abrupt. also, the build up parts could be a tiny bit louder i feel.
i cried when your song dropped, so good work. :W:

@bud- your song has an awesome subtlety to it. all of the sounds are great and i think the plucks are very original and vibey. definitely enjoyed the listen. mixdown is great, quite pleasant to the ears.

@luke-i thought your track was pretty fresh, i think the hat sample could be a bit lower in the mix and maybe equed a tiny bit. i felt the note changes around 1:30 were interesting but might take away from that flow you captured before. really like that double kick at around 3:14 haha. good work man.

@gaol- i felt like your song had some good ideas for sure but the mixdown seemed a slight bit too full. it wasnt clashing or anything just almost overwhelming in a sense.i think its mostly the highs on the midbass. i did like it though, with a little bit of work that track would be a banger haha.

@filtersnake- interesting track but i felt like the vibes that you brought together sort of clash in a way. really good sound design and mixdown though for sure.

alrighty, here is my newest project at 140. it has a little bit of a hiphop influence but it's still definitely a bit vibey.

@eye-sic - the other side: nice sub in this 1, intro prly coulda used a bit more ambience but thts just me nitpickin :P loved the percussion n pads as the songs progressed, gj man. some sick arp melodies in there too

@luke raith - wip: rly dig this man, my kinda stuff. soulful chords in the beginning, drums r groovy as well. liked the reverb automation on some of the build ups. bassline is big as well, followin u now man

@vanity - more love rmx: very jazzy. cant say ive heard the original tune but this is a def classy rmx, digging that funky bass synth. rly original sound youve got goin here

@ bass jacka - sunshine: lovin the percussion in the intro, very well done there. i can rly tell tht you're starting to put more thought into your drums, it def shows man. only advice i can give is try to give your sub a bit more motion. the sub itself sounds clean, albiet the bassline was a bit plain. pretty relaxing tune overall tho

these 2 tunes r my first try at the eski/grime sound. i was raised on hiphop so i try to keep tht hiphop influence in most of my tunes but ya, here they are. any feedback appreciated

theres nothing housey about that track mate
tempo wise no, as its at 140.
But the synths are house inspired and the build-up is as well. IMO anyway haha :W:

urbannerd62- There were some places where I felt like it was off beat, but it wasn't. Trippy effect, I know that's not easily accomplished. I think I would have liked to see another synth line or something in that middle section to give it more power.

Eye-siC- That synth line was great and the kick's presence was perfect. Let you know it was there without sounding like it was the only thing in the lower frequencies. I'm all for rolling music but you might want a little more progression to really make the track pop.

filtersnake- I see what you meant with the house feel, especially in the intro. I think you should bring the vocals up a tad bit in the mix, or bring the mix down a bit. Also, I heard a little bit of mud in your lows, maybe tighten up your kick or eq your bass a little more.

lightshapers- that high synth has the potential to get annoying really quick but it doesn't. I also think you could do with some more bass, I'm a sucker for a strong 808 though. You got your mix to be loud, now maybe you should tighten it up.

Heres a little dub garage thing I've been working on.

@eye-sic nice and deep moody melodies, i like it a lot, if you gave this track some minimal fx sweeps at the intro and through out to give the track a bit more progression it would sound great!
@urbanner cheers for the comemnts mate, link down below to my proper soundcloud if you fancy a follow on there :), u dont want beef is really up my street, great choice using 909 samples for this, basslines really heavy, good job on the second drop too, only thing id do is chop out a one or two 16 bar sections here and there just to cut the length down a bit!
@houstonrevolver nice and fresh, something a bit different, id just give it a better mixdown as percussions a bit too loud, other than that good stuff!
@ocelots revolver great mixdown, love the breakdown around the 1.30 mark, maybe give that snare a bit mroe compression as it gets a bit lost in places, nice track!
track i posted about a week ago, almost the finished product, any feeback would be sweet..

@Houston Weather, I do agree with Ocelots about the percussion being a bit too overpowering, however I'd personally only lower them a little since I like the dominance they have - I guess it's a subjective thing. I personally think your kick lacks a little punch and does not cut through the mix as well as it should, I'd also turn it up a little. With the snare, I'd try to give it some more brightness, again to make it stand out in the mix a little more. Though, a lot of it's subjective so it's hard to properly comment. I do really like the percussion and the track is very well-designed. Of course, there are just a few things you could touch up, but regardless, it's well done.

@Ocelots Revolver, I gave you feedback over Soundcloud.

Just curious if this sounds somewhat similar to Burial. I know the kick is quite far back in the mix, but what are your thoughts? It's personally one of my favourite productions.

@Ocelots Revolver I posted feedback on your sc

@LukeRaith Not really my style, but the production seems up to scratch, one thing I think it's a bit too long and I feel there isn't enough going on for the length

@LJK32 I couldn't really hear the kick, besides that it's quite short for me to form an opinion on, but it sounds like it could be the beginning of a nice track

Here is my track, it's my first attempt at doing this "Complextro" stuff, I know its not perfect or very good for that matter, but I would like some pointers in the right direction if you may :4:

@AcidRat: The intro mix is kind of dull, and the driving midrange gets a little repetitive. There's no build to the drop, and as a result the drop sounds totally out of place. Your basses sound a bit weird, perhaps too distorted and the way you chop into the wub's and chord stabs isn't very slick - try making the drums and synths more syncopated (the 4x4 beat needs more power + hats). The gliding lead that comes in is very nice as is the melody itself. I'd really focus your attention on that main saw bass - make it fatter and sidechain it to the kick, also perhaps play with something like dBlue glitch to chop/gate/screw the notes up :W:

@ljk32: Does sound Burial-esque, nice fireplace(?) sample. Whats lacking is obviously a melody or noticeable beat, it's hard to judge on that small clip but sounds like you're headed in the right direction. The kick is so far back I actually struggled to hear it - bring that out and perhaps play with some more midrange/treble pads to get that swirling feel to the track.

@LukeRaith: Nice 130 vibe, you could perhaps tighten the bass - atm it's a little too boomy. The progression is nice but at times it does drag on a bit, maybe try condensing the track a little or adding more variety. The panned claps sound nice and the hats are crisp. The kick could perhaps use some hard top end, maybe from a closed hat hit.

An old tune from me that I recently remixed/mastered and put up for download:

Thanks for the feedback. But yeah, that's why I said "I know the kick is quite far back in the mix". I was more just looking to see if it sounded somewhat similar to Burial, that's all.

@mthrfnk, cheers for the feedback man.

@mthrfnk - dunno if you wanted feedback but def big tune there! dunno normally i wouldnt listen all the way with this genre :3 but i did with yours :h:
@acidrat - sounds bit too random atm for me hm hard to tell really like the drop melody though ! honestly would build the whole tune upon it. but yeah maybe punchier overall? some drums layered maybe too
@lkjk32 - dunno if it sounds jsut like burial haha but i do like how it sounds so far but yeah cant really tell either what you could do with it after the short clip but i do like the short clip
@luke raith - i dunno man i dig it as it is sounds are not too overproduced so it has a nice vibe. hm really like it wouldnt change anything haha :U: love the shuffly beats

that one i reworked again dunno what i wanna do with it but i like it maybe i can finish it of and keep it for sth lol :dunce:

@BudSpencertron: I like the Asian-ish strumming, and the groove of the track in general is really tight... I like the bass, not sure about that low voice sound, like the glitchiness.

@mthrfnk: Sounds really professional, mix sounds very complete and balanced. I love the disco-ness, although not my preferred genre of EDM. Sounds great though.

@AcidRat: A bit quiet, but probably not mixed/mastered completely. Bass sounds very sketchy, but I can definitely tell what you're trying to do here. Good job including that white noise/high hat sound. The higher wobbles sound kind of out of place? I like the melodic synth after that first drop. In general it sounds like you have really good ideas but not the technological know-how to put them into action. Keep producing! :W:

In the meantime, here's my track. It's pretty much done, but I'm looking to improve it in any way I can.

Flywheel Your kick is fine but the snare is too weak compared to the power your drop has. The idea is great, the drop is really neat, just need to bring your synths together a little more, some parts are louder than others. I like it! The hi-hats are a bit loud at some parts imo.

BudSpencertron Digging the reese work! The verse sample you got going is really fucking trippy! It works so nicely with the overall vibe of the song. I'd say change your snare how ever. And take out some of the highends on the kick.

mthrfnk sounds really familiar in the intro, cant put my finger on it though. Like the spring time vibe you got going too hahahah. Not a huge fan of the little vocal thing right before the drop, but it's really nice and fits beautifully during the drop man!!! Did you use your own talkbox to record the vocals? I have a banshee one I never use I feel bad haha.

Got home from classes about 2 hours ago, the outcome was this. How's the mix down? It was done on the fly since I was really just trying to convey an emotion.

@dotcurrency: Not sure about the white noise movement up n down sometimes, also feel like the impact of the 'drop' could've been slightly bigger. Either by taking out more right before it, or adding 1-2 more layers. I like the tune tho, drums sound nice aswell. I'd personally make the drums a tad louder if it was my tune, but idk if I'm just weird and like too loud drums or whatever, haha

@Flywheel: KOAN Snare? Might wanna switch it out, or make it less recognizable, haha :P There's huge differences in perceived loudness between two of the bass patches that should be fixed, also the drop could do with something more, not sure what I'd add tho, but since it sounds like you're going for that big brostep sound, 1-2 more layers would do the trick. Brutally honest, there's not much setting this tune apart from any other brostep tune nowadays, not sure if you're after that or not. 2nd drop is.. eeh, not sure how I feel about it. It doesn't flow right for me, and the lazer sound didnt really do it for me. It does have the potential to be a decent brostep tune, but needs something more to get there. :)

@BudSpencertron: reversed piano and vocals are sounding dope, one of my weaknesses. the bass is fat and fits nicely. this is actually nice and funky, hard to come up with good feedback.. 2nd part could maybe have some more elements in the background.. Pretty much digging the tune as it is, so not sure what more to say about it.. Nice one atleast, haha

Here's my tune, kind of a deadmau5 rip off or something, just something I messed about with, haha. Not sure about the breakdown towards the end, also some stuff about the mixdown, but looking for someone else's opinion aswell :D

@blinkesko The plucks and drums on the intro are nice and I like the main melodies too. Wouldn't say it's too deadmau5-esque. I'd tone down your white noise as it's a bit too obvious and gets fatigueing. I like the piano on the breakdown, fits nicely - I think the break as a whole sounds fine, I'd like to hear how you're gonna build it up again. Overall the mix sounds nice :)

@dotcurrency Intro's cool, I like the synths and rolling drums but the drums cut out a bit sharply towards the drop. The drop could use more power, the sub isn't overtly obvious - perhaps saturate it up a bit to colour the midrange a little more. The drums overall are well sequenced but coudl use a little more punch through the mix. Overall it has a real melancholy feel. Perhaps could use some more progression towards the end, especially drums wise.

@Flywheel Drums are pretty punchy on the intro, I like the way you tease the bass, sounds pretty gnarly but it covers the drums too much imo - work on the mix to bring out the snare especially. Could use a little more variation in the bass, maybe a phaser or stutter every few hits? Work on the drums in the mix and this should sound pretty cool.

@BudSpencertron I like the basses and vox on this one man, and the plucked bits - sounds kinda Japanese. Actually reminds me of the music for the tv show Utopia, also got a kinda Pretty Lights vibe. The mix sounds good to me, drums punch through nicely and the bass is nice and crisp. Finish it up :6:

Thanls for the previous feedback guys.... more new shit from me, mix is shit but meh:

BudSpencertron: i like the glitched out vibe, reminds me of pretty lights, with some tight EQing(getting the bass to sound a bit more wide, good basic patch, just needs polishing) other than that great, if youre serious about it geti it professionally mastered and itd be super dope
dotcurrency:good vibe youre going for, most definitely needs to be compressed though, all the sounds sound super fat, good mixdown, just the overall volume of the track is a bit quiet, great percussion on the track, thats what gives most of the emotion to me, maybe up the sub bass a tad bit
blinkesko:GREAT eqing and mastering, love everything but the high lead after the drop, good side chaining on the bass to get the gain pump, piano part sounds great, like i said, super fat sounds, good job with the stereo imaging, just not diggint the lead, sounds a little thin to me

heres a super rough track ive been working on, ive you couldnt tell the build up drums and drop drums are the same, just wanted to see how the drop with sound with some decent percussion, ill change that before the song is finished, its needs a better mixdown and the subbass is lacking a little bit, but other than that im honestly happy with this riddim, the bass is pretty fat for just using sylenth and ohmicide if you ask me and i really like the percussion work i did on this.

@ Eye-siC
You got a great mixdown in this new bit - I love the vibe of the tune! The pads and the arpeggiated synths really make the track sound full!

@urbannerd62
I like the bassline on your track anchorz, but I'd switch it up after the first "half" - I'd put faster / shuffled hihats in it so it gets another groove and gets a bit faster

@ LukeRaith
Really dig this track, but I think the kick is a bit muddy or could punch more through the mix!

Here's my new bit, got a bit of that monsters style init - forthcoming on my free EP once my fb page hits 200 likes. Hope you guys like it, feedback is highly appreciated!
