How do you know what I've done here, have you taken the time to read through my post history? Gonna doubt that since you can't even properly read my posts in this thread.
A lot of great posters
have left the forum but every once in a while you see an old head pop back in. I myself had been away for a significant time before starting to post again recently. Either way, how the hell would you know? You joined what, 7 months ago? Not trying to pull rank or toot my own horn here but, who the fuck are you? What have you done? Why should anyone buy the shit that comes out of your mouth? You're just doing the same thing the last guy did when I was in this argument. "Well this pro guy says to do this so it's right." No explanation why, nothing to back your position up. Just an appeal to authority without factoring in some important originally unaccounted-for details (In this scenario, budget)
Nobody's gonna respect you if you argue like a petty woman (no disrespect to any women reading this

) Being stubborn and insulting just makes you look weak in the end. I at least try to be stubborn, insulting and informative. Nobody has to agree with my posts but I at least explain my reasoning from a fairly objective standpoint. The information's there, I've tried to address all the issues. All you have to do is read it and not misinterpret it. If there's some other parameter I'm not accounting for, by all means bring it to my attention. But if you're just going to ignore the important points and keep harping on the same redundant shit...

ALPACA STRIKE TO THE FACE
Oh, so now you want a discussion? I thought you was content to just call me a stupid tnuc...
Don't start bringing appeal to authorities into the conversation, that's fucking retarded. We all appeal to authority, seeing as how we're speaking English and went through an education system. We all have something to learn from other people and have all learned from others in the past. I asked you why almost every producer uses monitors and headphones, you called me a twat for "reading computer music videos", whatever the hell that means? So, please tell me - why do all successful producers use monitors and headphones? And why should I believe a random forum troll over the advice I've had from my peers for the past decade?
You're entitled to your own opinion, that's fine. But you're not entitled to your own facts, they stay the same. And the facts are that headphones don't have any cross-feed, and we're making stereo music. So it's necessary to hear the cross-feed to be able to accurately check the balance of the different instruments and to hear the stereo image correctly and check for phasing issues. This really is mixing 101 and it pains me to have to spell it out. I suppose if you want to make music in mono then it doesn't matter so much, but most of us want stereo.
The other fact is that sub bass is low frequency audio and is felt as much as it is heard. I don't know how old you are, but if you've ever been to a nightclub you'll know what I mean, you feel it literally shaking you. Now, headphones cannot reproduce that feeling, so how are you going to monitor it? With your ears? With a spectrum analyser that uses fft(which isn't accurate in the low end)? Or with a combination of headphones and monitors? I choose the option that gives me the most detail - headphones and monitors. And I might even get a sub.
As for who I am or what I've done, that's my business. I asked you the same earlier, you don't have one tune to your name as far as I can see, I'd love to hear some of your headphone produced music. I've read the forum for years, and decided to be more active. And I saw your post saying that subs make it harder to hear the sub bass and had to say something! Dear oh dear.
Anyhow, I hope that answers whatever you wanted answering? Although all you really did was rant on and on in your last post, I don't know what you actually were asking? Please try to stick to the topic and don't act like such a whiny bitch.
