It honestly makes me not want to post here. So many negative people. Most of whom are like 19 years old. At least that's the impression I get. I'm pretty sure it's because they're all angry that they're not famous yet or something so they take it out passive aggressively on forums. Maybe not getting laid. Who knows. I do know that people like that 9 times out of 10 do not succeed in life.

The only reason I do bring myself to post something is because I noticed that it gets me plays on soundcloud the more active I am here. Ha

The real disappointment is the lack of patience, respect, and kindness at this site.

why would you care about soundcloud plays... especially if your producing music that alot of dubstepforum members are not really into...so you get a random play from here, there is no one to my knowledge that would play your track on here that runs a commercial progressive house/trance label...

Its about getting live and playing shows.
Soundcloud hits mean shit in this society. If you want to be a "real producer" I quote on quote that because people think that its so hard to do this and everyone has their own opinions of what production is. I know some amazing producers, they have always told me to just keep learning and doing you not worrying about trolls on the internet. I hate the way people treat other people grow up and realize that we are all in it for the same thing. Music. Music and more fucking music.
This is a test this is only a test.

I just joined but from what I can see, it's not unlike any other internet forum. Some people are helpful, some people troll, and some people do both :P

We all have our agenda's m7. It's the way of the world.

Anyway, this OP is obviously specifically talking about me, in a subliminal way. He needs to be banned for ignoring forum policy on creating forums that call out specific members, when a PM will do. Goddamned troll. 420 ;D

The following link is an example:-

I mean who gives a damn if he wants a pc for dubstep or music production.....everytime i see a post where someone is asking a question (especially if he/she is new here) i see all this nit picking and "just use google etc bollox"....i mean come on if you don't want to answer or entertain a thread DONT READ IT.....that is common sense......

Hey he/she is new lets piss on their parade and take our anxiety out on them then i will feel like a big man/woman and be respected lol
That thread is hilarious though.
Most of the time when people fuck with each other on here, it's when someone has been cocky or stupid
This thread is a good example: http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... e#p3365225
 He goes "I've pretty much mastered massive", wants to buy another synth, and gets replies like
"You've pretty much mastered massive, so it should be no problem...right?"
"Just buy as many $200 synths as possible so you can be bad at all of them."
"your retarded"

This post didn't come out the way I wanted it to but I'm sure you got the point
I need to stop changing my sig

I think people trolling the Sound Design board is well self defeating. This was something that everyone agreed was needed to take the endless "How do I make..." threads out of the general Production and put them somewhere specific, and people now start trolling it? :|

In regards to OP, yes there will always be people on Production boards who act like dicks, whether they're know-it-all dicks or just condescending dicks. I'll try and moderate threads whereever possible if something is getting out of hand, but there must be parts of it that should be self-policing as I can't be online constantly. If people were a little bit pleasant before launching into the verbal assaults of new members (which is frankly, pathetic) then we'd all get along a little bit more :U:

I'm usually the first one to acknowledge that there is a lot of troll and nonsense posting going on. There's far too much bickering and shit talking in threads that don't really warrant it. However, I find that thread you posted as an example to be the exact opposite of the point you are trying to make. There was 1 or 2 people that made a rather simple joke at the expense of the OP but other than that there's quite a bit of good advice in that thread. Stuff that I hope the OP kept in mind while purchasing their parts. If you can't even handle the rather gentle ribbing that is happening in that post then you shouldn't even be allowed on the internet.

Personally I don't mind the posts where people tell the user to use google. When I started producing music I wasn't even aware of places like DSF or DOA. When I decided I wanted to try it for myself I went directly to search engines. The first thing I found out was that I was probably going to need a DAW. So the first thing I did was go to google to look for different programs. From there it was just a matter of figuring out what I needed on my own and looking for it on my own. I learned how to use my programs on my own. I learned how to use my synths on my own, albeit not very well. I'm sure you can see where this is going.

I did the majority of the work on my own, and there's no reason why I shouldn't expect others to do the same. Most of the time it's quite easy to figure out by a post if the poster actually tried to do something themselves or if they are simply expecting you to hand it to them. I understand the backlash in those threads. I usually choose to just ignore most of them myself. It's obvious that telling them how they can learn on their own isn't going to go anywhere. They already know that they can learn on their own, but they want a shortcut.

Show some initiative and maybe people won't troll you as often. That's really all it takes for some people. Just show me that you've at least tried, or even put some thought into it on your own. This will, at the very least, show that you are serious about what you are doing. No one wants to help that kid that is just trying to be cool for his friends. That's just insulting to the rest of us.
