shit, all the memories.
my mum used to listen to pink floyd all the time, back when I was still a toddler. "Ummagumma" would be the first album I bought from my own money, that would've been around 1998... (yes, I'm a young fellow) I didn't understand the music at all back then, it was just influences. only much later did I get a grasp of what magic might be found within that plate...
then again, "Metropolis" was the second movie I ever saw in a movie theatre (first being Lion King, obviously). it was a chemically colour treated version though, and it was a presentation for a kid's club, you know, kindergarden kids getting dropped of at the movies so the parents had a free afternoon once a month. didn't understand fuck all, could barely read anything because of the colour being applied so messy. hell, this takes me right back to 1996.

thank you very, very, very, very much for this. i can't start to explain how grateful I am. would've never thought of looking for something like this.

You should check out the 2010 restoration of the movie. They found something like 30 mins of the original movie in Argentina which was considered lost. The movie makes a lot more sense with the lost scenes.
