load of mc's turned up and (IMO) ruined distance's set. pulled up every single bloody tune and chatting rubbish.

maybe it's because distance is one of my favourite dj's/producers and i'm not a fan of grime but i thought it was painful

think i was at this friday gone

mc's killed it, not in a good way

Ashley -
Im not sure whether to understand that statement as sarcasm or your lack of knowledge or just blatant ignorance on who is responsible for what. Bruv - back in the days there used to be a handful of people that turned up to events, people used to get limos to FWD thats how important it was (and it was cheaper than cabs).
so you listened to MAH Rinse special too

I really can't understand how any dubstep head with half a brain who has been listening to the sound for more than, say, a year or two, can dismiss grime outright and deny its importance to UK music or its symbiotic relationship with dubstep.

Whether you like grime or not, it's relationship with and to dubstep, and both genre's relationship to Rinse FM and its development can't be ignored.

It's pretty obvious to me now this is a temporary ban that I think is being done to make certain MCs think twice about their behaviour. I don't have a problem with that - a lot of them DO need to understand how to reign themselves in for certain occassions. What I do think is that outright saying "all grime is banned" is the same dramatic and childish bitching that I recall from the Ammunition vs. Deapoh fiasco.

Everyone needs to grow the fuck up.

PS: lol @ all the dubsteppers who are talking all "grime is all washed up now anyway". enjoy your time in the sun.

Nope! But now you said that it would be nice too ;)

That was a quote from a Menta interview.

^^^

totally agree with Sick Boy there.
Rumours are circulating, bullshit is being talked (air to triumphalist dubstep heads who don't know), and understandably people are concerned about this being the first stage in Geeneus removing grime from Rinse for good. ---Dan Hancox, Dot-Alt

in the net age it's not difficult for even a pirate radio station to make official announcement about decisions being made. this would control the overreactions somewhat.

probably better if you didn't have wiley declaring all grime has been banned from the station. another pr disaster for rinse/ammo. but then again, maybe they want the publicity :S

Wiley's a fuckin character like
I only smoke weed when I need to,
And I need to get some rest,
I confess, I burnt a hole in the mattress,
Yes, yes, it was me, I plead guilty
I cant get no sleep

fair enough i guess - either way this comment has reminded me that i should point out that the line 'air to triumphalist dubstep heads who don't know' is not aimed at ALL dubstep fans, or all people on here, lol. just the few who were annoying me last night.

big up sick boy, truth there.

innit. if they're claiming its someone else broadcasting the FM, they could easily officially claim that whoever reps them on the forums is just making shit up

ps: as far as I'm concerned such a huge development in the history of a pirate station thats been so crucial to uk music is very much on topic for a dubstep forum.
