It's definitely different from Coki. On the subject of the show I actually enjoyed it quite like the stuff he's playing atm

i can honestly say that i'd rather listen to yunx instead of that set in the op. have you even listened to it?orangeluva56 wrote:admit it. most of you would rather listen to plasticians show than youngstas.
his selection sounds like he's trying to pull a skream lool.
Re: Militant New Coki!!
Think you're being a tad harsh if you're referring to the house music at the start. He always plays quite a varied selection but this particular show did have more house than usual at the beginning for some reason. I have been listening to the guy on radio for a long time now and think he's always been good at representing a broad range. His shows this year have just been a lot more varied than they used to be and I actually prefer this from him than the hard dubstep stuff he was playing a while back.TopManLurka wrote:i can honestly say that i'd rather listen to yunx instead of that set in the op. have you even listened to it?orangeluva56 wrote:admit it. most of you would rather listen to plasticians show than youngstas.

Also, what's up with yunx? His show is still one of my favorites on the radio as well
Re: Militant New Coki!!
I don't think its the type of music as such, more the fact it just sounds like a load of sounds that are popular atm. TBF I only flicked through but it doesn't sound varied at all.. just heavy synthy stuff and trap. Lots and lots of trap.
Where'd you get them tunes? I don't know I'm just following fashion!
Big up Plastician though, hes doing something different thats cool, I'm just not feeling it and don't buy in to it being 'varied'.. still a don. Last time I listened to him was a night he done a 3 hour history of bass set, was massive. Hopefully his remix album isn't a let down.

Agree, I'm glad both Skream & Plastician have gone down the route they've gone instead of going down the bass cannon route.Twerk wrote:I actually prefer this from him than the hard dubstep stuff he was playing a while back.

Re: Militant New Coki!!
thank g0d 4 dnb doe. imagine if andy c, hype, grooverider, fabio and all them pioneers there had deserted their sound and played this kind of stuff @ the time garage was popular - the stuff at the 170 range over the past decade would have been a joke. (that's not to say plastician falls under that category btw, i'm on about guys like loefah and scream).
Re: Militant New Coki!!
I'd agree on the popularity thing RE the house stuff, but where else can I hear the synthy stuff at the moment? Can't get enough of that sound but he's the only person I hear playing it at the moment. Closest thing to it would be swindle but he's on a more dubstep angle with it whereas some of the tunes plastic has been playing are more hip hop / beats tinged. I like stuff he's been playing by guys like Awe, Mr Carmak and Ryan Hemsworth but he seems to be the only dj really pushing that sound on the radio so i'm interested to find more if you can help!Muncey wrote:I don't think its the type of music as such, more the fact it just sounds like a load of sounds that are popular atm. I wasn't under the impression that was a popular sound at the moment. All I'm hearing everywhere is house and techno.
Re: Militant New Coki!!
Butterz have played a few AWE pieces, usually fits into their sets quite nicely. Night Slugs is always quite synth heavy.. Jackmaster on R1.
Re: Militant New Coki!!
Yep I'm a regular butterz listener. Will get onto the night slugs show now - jackmaster is also great but I've not heard him play too much on this tipMuncey wrote:Butterz have played a few AWE pieces, usually fits into their sets quite nicely.
