I don't mind the Glasto mud tbh, it's all part and parcel of the British summertime experience

I do kind of feel this way about it... 2007 was the most disgusting one I've been to, but I probably wheel out stories from that year more than any other. It was fucking legendary. But I have to say I'm hoping a little bit extra for good weather this year just so that V doesn't get put off forever more by coming back from her first camping festival with trench foot or something!

Oh I will say watching people fall prey to mud traps was hilarious.wellys so deep in it they just couldn't reclaim them from the muddy depths and had to walk around in socks.

The best case I ever saw of this was at Glade in '07. There was a mudtrap at the bottom of the camping hill which was about waist deep... you'd fall in, get laughed at by about 40 people you hadn't even noticed were there and then drag yourself out only to join the ever-growing crowd waiting silently for the next victim!

DO NOT TEMPT THE WEATHER GODS

2005 when I left wellies in the car - flash floods on the Thurs
2007 when I didn't take any wellies at all - torrential rain all weekend
2009 when I got my shit organised and had waterproof trousers AND wellies - sunburn

This is the only time of year I pander to the supernatural.

One of my housemate's friends got herself a ticket painting bins this year!

Is anyone else planning on trying to make Youngsta at Block Nine btw? I think we might...

Yes definitely, I missed him last time as I'd just come off shift and couldn't make it there in time

magma wrote:Shamelessly ripped from the Efestivals forum... latest news on the special guests slots, still a fair bit to fill in by the looks of it:

The Other Stage
Friday - Atoms For Peace (almost certainly) - 11:00 - 11:55

Wow
Thursday - TBA - 01:30 - 03:00

Gully
Saturday - Ram Jam Special Guest - Skrillex (according to EE app and Efests tweet) - 22:00 - 23:00

Hell Stage
Friday - Radio1 Essential Mix Special Guests - - 03:00 - 04:00

Acid Lounge
Friday - TBA - 04:00 - 06:00

Williams Green
Thursday - Launch Party - Buttoned Down Disco from 11.30pm - Other Acts 1400-2300

The Beat Hotel
Saturday - Beats International DJ Set - Fat Boy Slim - 18:00 - 20:00

Bimble Inn
Thursday - Special Guests & TBA - 00:30 - 03:00
Sunday - Special Guests - 00:15 - 01:15

Also a strong likelihood that The Park Stage will have a secret headliner on Sunday as it finishes much earlier than the other nights. If AFP don't open the Other Stage they're almost certain to have this slot. Also seen Grinderman mentioned as a possibility 8)

No there won't be any secret guests on the park stage this year, I have this information on good authority
