Let me go cook a bacon sarnie whilst you two research sound cards :corntard:
Because most producers use their inbuilt soundcard and the inbuilt mac soundcard is better than any other professional soundcard you can buy to build into your computer or keep externally??

Yeah I'm going out on a limb and say whatever cheap, piece of shit soundcard foxconn puts on the macbook motherboard is no where near as good as most soundcards on high end desktop motherboards let alone a dedicated soundcard be it internal or external

That's the self-destruct button.

Let's say a Mac Book comes with a better sound card. Most people use an audio interface. Tell me if I'm misunderstanding what you are getting at. But I don't see what stock sound cards have shit to do with this.

I hope you are shrooming. First, I highly doubt Mac Book sound cards are better than something like an RME card. And since when do most producers use the stock soundcard???

I guaran-fucking-tee you my MOTU interface is better than a Mac Book stock sound card.

Apparently the question marks were not enough for you to pick up on the sarcasm.

They sure do. If they didn't, this thread would be 3 posts long rather than 30 :D

Let's all agree to disagree.
Disagree all you want I have a Windows 7 laptop and a MacBook Pro. Both are nice computers both are powerful. The Mac is the one I go to 90% time for Audio / MIDI production. If you had both you'd understand...

Ok. Ill bite. Give me ten reasons I should spend the money on a Mac Book over a Windows machine for music.

Because most manufactured laptops are absolute shit, and selfbuilt laptops are hard to put together, space management wise. Macbook pro runs smooth and is powerful, it's an amazing build and all the hardware is great and integrates with the software really well. It has the best track ever (i used to be strongly against those, now i never touch a mouse anymore), awesome inbuilt mic, great battery, decent cooling, and just amazing performance given the specs. MBP was even elected the best laptop to run Windows on, if i recall correctly. But that would be stupid since OSX is one of the main reasons i went macbook pro. Having used both Windows and OSX a lot, nothing is ever going to convince me that Windows isn't absolute shit compared to most other OS.

But yeah, if we're taking desktop, build a PC. iMacs are overpriced for what they are.

My budgets roughly $1200.
Can you even get macbook pro for that price?

I’m guess when people said build a PC they meant a desktop. Desktops have better processors and are more upgradable than laptops.

Thanks for that. Now Im not trying to continue this but thats all fairly subjective and none of it really answers why mac book is better for music. Your response is how feel about my Asus laptop I paid 600 for new. Ive never had issues with Windows since XP and 7 is just as good--and im not some computer guru who keeps after his shit 100% of the time.

Its great that your experience has lead you to using mac books. Ive worked on several mac books for audio when helping friends and I honestly couldnt tell a difference.

Pretty much the only objective thing ill agree w you on is build quality of the case. Though my Asus is partially metal.
