How do I make a Sam Laxton Pad synth?

Post by wizzaz89 » Sun Jun 23, 2013 8:12 pm

Hi, I was wondering how to make the pad used in a lot of Sam Laxton's tracks? When I try to make them they don't sound as warm as his.

I read online that he uses reason software.

The sound starts from around 0:35

supersaws, maybe some distortion, analog-ish compression or whatever to make it sound warmer. Not sure what plugs reason has

saws. adjust your envelopes accordingly. no big mystery here. I'm sure your synth of choice has plenty of presets that sound similar to this, so if you don't know how to design a pad, utilize presets with some reverse engineering exercises.
