You get into the habit quick when labels are not interested. I'll get Macc to do it, because
1/ he's got the ear.
2/ I hate playing my own tunes out, and if I do they need to be mastered as my mixdowns are not rig punchy behemoths.
3/ if someone randomly happens upon a tune of mine, I dont want it to sound flat or weak compared to some next brehs tune.

I only think of mastering (more than throwing a few plugins on the master bus when bouncing) for when selling tunes...

if you want take a listen to my soundcloud and if you like the masters I'll do your tune. I just do digital mastering, using UAD Fairchild (emulation) compressor and usually a waves limiter. I also just bought the massive passive EQ plug and waves' SSL bus compressor too, but I haven't tried them. Anyway it would be quick and free of charge if you feel like giving me a shot
