I watched Lost in Translation for the first time over the weekend.

I thought it was a bit shit TBH, maybe my expectations were a little high.

I thought the performances were pretty good, the story was just a bit boring in my opinion.

I loved it. But I can understand why people call it overrated as well.

So twisted how it plays with the audience. Thought the characters were great. Was thinking mid way through "How/Why do I like this guy? Even though he is torturing a family"

Lincoln - Enjoyable and very moving at times (especially Tommy Lee Jones turn as Thaddeus Stevens), but it was really the story of the 13th Amendment rather than Lincoln's biopic... it didn't give us much history of how Lincoln formed his views or came to power and it showed nothing of the aftermath of his assassination. Perhaps it c/should've been a two or three parter to give the man's story space to breathe.

Image

Horrible Bosses - Decent popcorn fodder. Nothing special, but not a bad way to kill a couple of hours on a plane.

Image

Dark Skies - Better than expected actually... the atmosphere reminded me of Wes Craven's New Nightmare for some reason despite it being an entirely different story. Nothing nobody's seen before, but enough to give my girl's nephew a difficult night's sleep!

Image

After Earth - I've seen this get panned all over, but I actually REALLY enjoyed it; maybe because I was expecting so little. Jayden Smith's turning into a decent little actor.

I watched the old and new Karate Kids recently again too.

The new one's actually better than the old one.

This Is The End - saw it last night. Decent, went on way too long. Didn't care for the rape jokes.
