Why do people hate Skrillex, but not Noisia?

Maybe it has to do something with image. I came to know Skrillex's personality before I came to know his music and that made an impact on how I think about him.I discovered Noisia solely through their music (ran across one of their tracks on Pandora I think) and has had a positive attitude toward them ever since. First impressions...

what's wrong with skrillexes personality? hes a fine guy, knows he can't DJ, just works hard making the music he loves and people go crazy for.

I don't hate him at all, i just think he and his fans have shit taste.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with his personality. Both artists are famous, and how they are perceived can be influenced by their image. Skrillex has a certain image and the people that don't find it attractive may not find him attractive overall as an artist. That's all.

His point wasn't about having any problem with his image, just that the first most of us knew of skrillex was his image rather than his tunes, for example I knew what he looked like way before I'd heard any of his music, on the other hand I wouldn't recognise a single member of noisia if I walked past them on the street

I understand why some people don't like Skrillex, but I don't think he deserves the disrespect he gets by any stretch of the imagination. He's not my favorite, but I don't hate him. He does cool remixes. His EP that was a throwback to Burial was pretty cool. He came from a punk/metal background, that's why his music is more aggressive, but that's no reason to hate him.

Seriously? Hmmm.
I guess because the type of music he makes is like Marmite. You either love it or hate it. A lot of people simply aren't into "brostep". I personally find it exciting as fxc.
Just one of those things I guess, society biasness.

Think Lady Gaga. Lots of hate, but still quite a few die-hard fans. I think Noisia are primarily a different genre anyway and it's only now they're making quite a bit of Dubby music, so they've established themselves very well in the d'n'b scene so I think the comparison is a lil off.

IDK though, just my opinion, also, that track for reference is SIIIIICK xD
