Re: Oasis are the best band of the 90s.
probably Chilli Peppers for that unique mix of funk punk & cali rocknroll
but, for me, the best 90s band were Sneaker Pimps...
snotty, dreamy, sexy in the right proportions.
interestingly, The Cure were being lauded as the best band in the world in the early 90s
even tho they'd been around since the 70's (best band of the 80's?)

Somehow forgot:

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I think Primal Scream are a bit shite too.

I concur. Bobby Gillespie has to be in the top 5 biggest dickheads I've ever met.wolf89 wrote:I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I think Primal Scream are a bit shite too.

Sure I told you before but I saw these 2 days in a row. A good week.wolf89 wrote:Harvey Milk

Edit: Lol you were with me for HM, fail.
Wouldn't even know where to start with an actual answer, the Melvins seems the obvious easy one though.
Some 'big' 90s favs;
The Wipers
Sonic Youth
Godflesh
Kyuss
Butthole Surfers
Sleep
Acid Bath
Pixies
Morphine

Smashing Pumpkins indeed.
Melancollie and the infinite sadness, is one of my all time favorite albums.

Not the "best", but my favourite band as a teenager that I never managed to get anyone else into. This is the third time someone's mentioned in front of me in 2 weeks.Today wrote:Pennywise

Deftones, Tool, RHCP, Radiohead, Pixies, Skywave, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Sunny Day Real Estate.
All are better than Oasis. Oasis aren't particularly bad, but people absolutely idolise them.
