Song made from Samples?

Post by BrainSick » Tue Jul 23, 2013 12:39 pm

Anyone think that creating a song using mostly samples is a shameful act? What about if you chop them, re-arrange them, pitch them and fill it all in with a little of your own stuff as necessary for the piece? And of course, EQ, Compress and mix the track to ensure it all fits. Forget about it "being lazy", what about just for the purpose of building new inspirations and for the fun of it? Put all the hours of tweaking and tuning we do on every track aside and just slap something together and enjoy it? Anybody totally against it, encouraged by it or just kind of indifferent?

Yes people do this all the time. No, it's not lazy if its it sounds good. IE burial.
