Since you like enslaved/burzum/ect you should check out Kvist. They only made one album before breaking up, but fuck me its good.
Also, you listen to everblack yet? Fucking good stuff.

I never understood the appeal of baroness. I have red album, but just can't get into it. Guess its a little too proggy for me.SCope13 wrote:Saw Between the Buried and me with Baroness and Mastodon, it was amazing

It's off their first ep. One of my favorite cuts ever, it's waaaay heavier than their later stuff.

Re: Death Metal - Metalcore - Deathcore - Grindcore - DUNNOC
Not listened to a lot of metal except for the usual stuff I listen to (Clair Cassis, Menace Ruine, Pig Destroyer), but I've been bumping the odd Corrupted or Incantation tune and some assorted black metal. I miss being into metal more >.>
Some Girls. Without all the noisy electronic bits, though. Bunch of hardcore emo from the early '90s too, like Swing Kids (one of their members would later join the Locust) or Maximillian Colby.SCope13 wrote:Recommendations for more shit like The Locust?

My old Deathcore band are getting back together, writing new material in an attemp not just to be the generic beatdown band we used to be... I do still love a good beatdown though hehe

Not just metal but also noise. All the 'intense' stuff I still like is in the realm of electronic music and punk. I'd just like more variety in extreme stuff and metal used to give me that relief. It doesn't HAVE to be metal, but yeah.ultraspatial wrote: why?

Re: Death Metal - Metalcore - Deathcore - Grindcore - DUNNOC
I get what youre saying. Its really nice to have a broad spectrum of music to pull ideas from. Id say about 90% of what i listen to is metal these days. I have a huge library full of punk/blues/classic rock/country/pop/you name it, but i just havent been into it so much lately. I really want to start listening to more jazz and classical, but that shit doesnt really get me going when im trying to get my lift on at the gym.Genevieve wrote:Not just metal but also noise. Dark Angel's back?
Gene Hoglan hasn't officially signed on yet. It's not Dark Angel without him tbh. But he's... their only famous drummer in Dark Angel's history, so it should be him
