Yeah, my Macs crash and the OS hangs all the time. It just did it halfway through this post and I had to restart THRICE!
I don't know how I managed to type this response, considering there isn't any software for my Mac and I just have to stare at the desktop for hours on end...

If you know how to use windows properly and keep it optimised etc it runs perfect.
A healthy maintained system does what it is supposed to do.
Only time my laptop ever slows down is when I try and open Flash 8 and Photoshop at the same time

A well maintained system runs well, no matter what it is. But, one OS is easier to maintain without being a nerdy nerd.

Damnnnnn

Exactly, which is why macs are designed to run numerous programs simultaneously without reducing the performance.Ashley wrote:I am just anti-mac - who carestwo oh one wrote:

If you were to look after a pc and mac in the same way as best you could I would put money on the pc to fuck up first.
I don't know how a windows user can use an argument like "ok, prepare to let your programs crash and your operating system left hanging..." against macs

When I was at college mate we had some nifty Mac G5's in the music tech labs. I think only a handful (30 max) kids have ever used them since they were bought and boy...Shafey wrote:Exactly, which is why macs are designed to run numerous programs simultaneously without reducing the performance.Ashley wrote:I am just anti-mac - who carestwo oh one wrote:

A few programs hanged alot, and also - files wouldnt physically delete off my memory stick when I plugged it in....whats that about?
That's probably because you usually need to format your memory stick for mac, or you need to empty the trash can on the OSX desktop.
At uni mate, we had over 100 G5's and 200 imacs that were all equipped with every design and production software you could imagine. There was never a time when any machine I used even hesitated at anything I wanted it to do, where as windows might just say 'no fuck off, I can't do that'.
Like I said before, it depends on what you do/need it for.
A few people I know find learning a new operating system long and unnecessary when they know windows inside out, which is cool but when it comes to performance they suffer.
